Interaction with Guests
I am usually around-in the garden, kitchen or on my computer. I am happy to say hello, hear of your adventures or answer questions! Your visit is about you, not me, so have a great time. :)
Everything SE and Downtown and the Pearl are within 10 to 20 min. via transit.
Walking 3 to 10 blks will get you to 30 different restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, wine bars, brew pubs and bottle shops. You'll find Cambodian, Japanese, French, Italian, Vegan, Hawaiian, Thai, Nicaraguan, Swedish, Mexican and Portland fusion.
We have a fresh, outdoor market every Wed, rain or shine. The Portland Kombucha brewers, fermenters and briners are close by. Plus coffee roasters and 50 Licks Ice Cream!

You wouldn't have to leave the neighborhood your whole trip! but then you'd miss Powell's Books and the Lan Su Chinese Garden. :)
Portland's transit system is Trimet. A ticket is good on the bus, train and streetcar; they have a Trip planner that gives you 2-3 options when you enter addresses or places or times. We have 2 buses, close by, 2-3 blks, that run every 15 min, 6 am to 10 pm.
There is a Max train, at the airport, that runs every 15 min until 11pm. It will get you into town to connect with a bus to the neighborhood.
Or as mentioned before, you could ask me to transport you to/from the airport for $20 a trip.
Other Things to Note
Join us in the Kitchen/great room if you like. We'll have some coffee or tea for you if you ask.
Portland's 'close in' locations, mean Train horns! Some people love them, some people need earplugs (bring them) on Summer nights when they open the windows. :-)
We are quiet after 11pm. You may come and go as you like as long as you are quietly, respectful after hours.
Please no red wine in the rooms, I have light carpets and somehow, someone always spills a glass!
If you use bleaching products as part of your cosmetics, please let me know so I can give you white towels. :)
Check with me about parking--my neighbor on the west prefers we don't park in front of his house.
Lucinda was a terrific host. She communicated with me ahead of time offering me good advice on transit and directions to her home. She would have picked me up at the airport but Portland's mass transit is so good that I was able to get to her home easily. I loved the neighborhood - there were delicious restaurants close by, especially for breakfast and lots of good activities right there! Lucinda lent me a nice rain jacket to wear and a whole array of guidebooks and maps which were very helpful to me. The bus system was terrific with a bus that stopped just couple of blocks away, so it was easy to get just about anywhere. My room was extremely comfortable and her home is wonderful. I would strongly recommend her place to anyone and I would stay there again! I think this is the essence of what Air BnB should be about - individuals sharing their homes and hospitality.
Lucinda was wonderful! We felt right at home the moment we stepped into the house. Very warm, very comfortable. It was a great way to start our first Portland experience. Lucinda was very welcoming and we had great conversations. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Portland.
My first Air bnb host! She set the bar pretty high. My friend May and I arrived and immediately felt at home. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Lucinda was sweet, welcoming and helpful when we asked her about Oregon. Definitely would recommend! Her hospitality made Portland comfortable for us Californians; what the Oregon weather lacked in warmth, we found in her home.
I stayed a few days with Lucinda. The room and house were comfortable and clean. I enjoyed Lucinda's hospitality and help.
The neighborhood is great, safe and beautiful.
Lucinda was welcome and accommodating. Our stay was clean and comfortable.
Lucinda was great! She was very welcoming, and the presence of other guests in the house gave the place a lively atmosphere. She was always ready with suggestions of fun things to do, and when we mentioned we were interested in hiking the Columbia gorge, she even provided us a handy guide! Would highly recommend.
I had a fantastic stay. Lucinda was very welcoming and had some great recommendations for things to do in Portland. Would stay here again 100%.

I'm a friendly, direct person. I like people. I've always lived with roommates, even when married. I have a lovely home and garden, where I can be found most days! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist for 25 years and have a Private Massage Studio on sight! Both of my sons and their wives, have homes close by. I walk my young son's dog, Taz, in the afternoon or we go to a dog park for some socializing. During the summer, I like to ride my bike through the neighborhood. In the evening, I love to take a picnic for Portland Music in the Parks.
