My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay at Wilma's B&B in Inverness. Her home is within a 10-minute walk to the city center, and Wilma gave us a great map, and helpful instructions for walking to town. We enjoyed our daily walks to town for dinner, or down to footpath for a morning walk along the river. We hardly drove in Inverness, save to nearby tourist sites like Culloden Battlefield or a riverboat cruise on Loch Ness; however, when we did drive, Wilma gave us great directions. She was also helpful with suggestions during breakfast as to where we should go and what we should see. We really enjoyed talking with her about her travels, and where we were from; she is a natural conversationalist, and very polite and kind.
Her home is immaculately kept, and very charming and cozy. I felt right at home, and was so relaxed throughout the whole of our stay. Our bed was very comfortable, and the fresh Highland air through our open windows accompanied with the singing of birds out in the garden was a great way to wake us in the morning. We slept so well! The bathroom en suite was, again, immaculate and the shower had great hot water, though the pressure was a bit light for my taste.
Wilma cooked us a great traditional Scottish breakfast every morning, though I believe that we could have had other options, if needed. All in all, it was a wonderful stay, and I will recommend her B&B to all. If we ever return, I will surely book with her again, and look forward to the relaxation and cozy, homey feel that she has adeptly cultivated.
The two nights we spent at Wilma's home were great. The room is cosy and luminous, in a quiet area. It was very pleasant to have some sun in the room in the morning ! Wilma also cooked us a very good cooked breakfast and gave us some good advices to visit Inverness.
Wilma is a great host, room is homely and clean and got delicious breakfast. Everything ok.
Staying at Ms. Wilma's House was like staying at my grandma's: the house is very cosy and everything is so clean and beautifully arranged. Wilma is a superb hostess, her breakfast is amazing (be sure to get Scottish traditional), and she even cares for her's guests, like what are they doing for the day or what the best locations to go around Inverness. I totally recommend staying with her, as I would totally stay with her again.
This is a prime location for walking to the center of the city and some great restaurants, yet you have the quietness of a quaint neighborhood. The linens are very crisp and even the tablecloths are
Hand embroidered from a lady in Spain. The home is lovely and being smaller than some BandB's takes nothing away from your comfort here. There is a book about a private estate on her living room table full of magnificent photographs that will leave you spellbound. Of course more than the book, Wilma and Hugh will leave you spellbound by their warm hearts and generous hospitality to ensure a very lovely stay.
Lovely host! Very well located ( approx. 5-10 min walk to the city centre )
Wilma is a charming person always looking after your needs. She gave me great recommendations as to where to go and what to visit during my stay. The room was perfect, very clean, very bright, perfectly suited for a couple.
I highly recommend her!
Thank you Wilma!
We stayed two nights at Wilmas and really enjoyed it, nice room, everything was very clean, breakfast tasty, a nice living room to sit at night and Wilma offered good advice for restaurants and places to visit in the area
