Please do not jump on beds
Please do not drag furniture so as to avoid damaging floors.
Please do not slam doors or windows.
Please do not leave faucets open - conserve water. Our water supply is from a deep well, leaving faucets open will cause the well pump to run continuously, the noise of which may be disturbing, and this also may result in an interruption to the water supply if the motor overheats.
Garbage is to be properly disposed of by placing in the bins provided. Baguio City has a Waste Management Program which requires garbage to be segregated into Nabubulok (bio-degradable) andDi -nabubulok (residuals and recyclables). Your cooperation in this is earnestly requested, to avoid our staff having the unpleasant task of re-sorting your waste.
Washing of clothes is allowed, but please check with our domestic staff if you want to use our washing machine, and/or ask for an allocation of space on the drying lines to avoid making the place untidy with hanging washing.
The 12 hours door to door ride from Manila last Dec 26 was greatly compensated by the warm welcome we received from our host. Despite our late arrival, they were accommodating with all of our requests like towels, extension cords, mattress /beddings, electric fan ( it can be stuffy in unit 102) which they obliged with no fuss. There are a few minor glitches like hang bars in the bedroom, hooks in bathroom, bath mat but then again not really an issue. We recommend that before leaving, ask your host for amenities that come with the price as home rentals vary. Neighborhood is a cluster of rental homes so if you're lucky to have a considerate neighbor ( who keeps their voices and laughters down after midnight) then you can have a goodnight sleep. Overall experience is satisfactory. Thank you Ate Lilia for making our stay in Baguio worthwhile.
The host is quite responsive to our inquiries before and during our stay. She lives in the immediate vicinity and calls are answered promptly. We read negative reviews elsewhere and quickly called to ask for assurance and she acceded to our request with no issues.
The place is as shown, no better or no worse. It's typical rustic Baguio / highlands interiors with a lot of locally-made (heavy) furniture. All amenities are as shown and in excellent condition and good working order.
The bed is clean, sheets are clean, blankets are clean, and pillows are clean.
The property location is perfect if you have your own car, otherwise it's just about 5 minutes from one of the major rotundas of Baguio. The unit is actually part of a larger structure of about 10+ rooms so expect to hear noise in the middle of the night from your neighbors esp if they are also from the big city. If you are a light sleeper, select a room with windows facing on the left side of the property away from the "courtyard."
I stayed in Unit 101 (7 beds) which is right at the street level (the rest are below street level as the structure is built hugging a cliff) and it shares it with Unit 102 (1 bed). Between the 2 units is a veranda / terrace with a view and about 4 benches where one can relax, perhaps smoke, and play board games.
There are deadlocks in all exterior doors and the police station is about 15 minutes away by foot.
During my stay, there was a street vendor right outside selling the usual Pinoy barbeque, isaw, etc.. Likewise, if informed ahead of time, the host can cook for you so you may want to try some of that fresh Baguio vegetables.
I booked a day before my trip and I think that I could get a lower price from one of the regular hotels in Baguio. This property is not a bad place overall esp for big parties as Unit 101 has room for 7 beds that can sleep 2 each. Plus a big sala that can sleep another 5 pax. But if you are just a small party, you can get one of the more 'modern' Baguio hotels for the same price.
