Kathy provided us with homemade cinnamon pecan rolls and coffee provisions for our first morning there. She had a binder filled with brochures, favorites spots to go and eat, and directions to all possible locations of interest. She was readily available by phone call or email making it much easier to feel welcomed in her home.
Appreciate your thoughtful note and so glad you loved the house, hot tub, beach, and fire pit! My goal as an airbnb host is for our guests to feel like their vacation can begin the minute they open the door and loved your comment that it was the best house you have ever rented for a family vacation - hope to host you again your next trip to the PNW.
Kathy's home was immaculately clean, logically laid-out, and spruced up with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine to greet us all. She left a custom letter explaining details pertinent specially to my family's stay as we have a few family members with mobility issues. The home had great views even on the main level for those who couldn't make it down the steps to the beach. everything needed to entertain our small family gathering was there. The clam-digging and wild oysters were so easy to find, though an adventure to cook! The hot tub, the rooms, everything was ideal for a relaxing Pacific NW retreat.
What an amazing home. The pictures don't do it justice. I've stayed in a ton of Airbnb properties and this by far beats the others as far as comfort and natural beauty. This is truly a home. I enjoyed the hottub and fire pit. I had beautiful runs along the beautiful scenic roads around the areas. The private beach is spectacular. Thank you for the opportunity to visit a little piece of heaven!
We had a wonderful time staying here for five days! The house is waterfront, exceptionally clean, beautifully landscaped, and accurately described by the pictures. It was actually even nicer than what we were expecting. Thank you Kathy!!
This year for Christmas my husband and I hosted our families for the first time in our hometown, Olympia, WA. In order to create lasting memories of this celebration we wanted to stay at a home that felt like our own. We found exactly what we were looking for with Kathy and David’s property. We were excited for our weeklong stay from the photos and description of amenities, but when we walked into the house we were blown away!
Not only is the home situated on gorgeous waterfront property, furnished impeccably, has a chef’s kitchen and fabulous entertaining spaces, Kathy and David are hosts that go above and beyond to welcome their guests. Waiting for us upon arrival were homemade muffins and breakfast fixings, a complimentary bottle of wine, and fireplace and fire pit prepped and ready for use. To boot the entire home was beautifully decorated for Christmas including a tree and seasonal dishes – all we had to do was put our gifts under the tree and we were ready to kick-off our celebrations. During our stay Kathy checked-in to make sure everything was going smoothly for us.
Thanks to Kathy and David’s home and their welcoming hospitality to enjoy their home like it was ours we had the perfect holiday celebration. Our family is still talking about how much they enjoyed spending time at the “holiday house.” We are looking forward to hosting future family gathering at Kathy and David’s home.
Our stay was wonderful! Kathy & David truly have the gift of hospitality. Kathy answered questions quickly & even sent an email to tell us about a Groupon to the children's museum so we could take our grandson. The house was full of warmth & plenty of activities inside & out! The home was clean, spacious, & the kitchen wonderful! From preparing the wood for the fire pit to the ingredients to make s'mores, & a book to help locate places in Olympia & instructions for various things in & around the home, they thought of everything to welcome us. There is even a nice wine selection in their home to choose from if you desire. The place is absolutely beautiful & serene with multiple places to sit & relax. We enjoyed the kayaks, the oysters, the hot tub, the grill... & simply sitting by the fire & enjoying our time in this beautiful home. Thank you Kathy & David! We could not have asked for a better vacation! We have many treasured memories thanks to your kind hospitality! Thank you!
Thank you Kathy and Dave for letting us live in your beautiful home. In spite of the rainy weather, we were always uplifted by the majestic views and the tasteful, warm (website hidden) and cleaning in your well-equipped kitchen was a joy. I could have stood in front of the window by the sink, looking at the sound for hours washing dishes! A cook's delight. The area is so peaceful and quiet and the moments spent on Geese Beach looking at the Olympics and searching for clams were memorable. We hope to return in the summer for more sunsets and moonshine on the lake and to sample a few more of your well-selected wines! And my French boyfriend agreed that the wines were excellent, and coming from a Frenchman, you know that is a great complement. Sitting with a glass of wine by the fire in your living room is certainly a great pleasure. Hopefully, next time we will get to use the hot tub and find some of those hidden oysters. Thanks again for a superb week.

About the Host, Kathy
My husband and I are in the furniture industry and travel both personally and professionally. We chose to live in Olympia, WA because of the outdoor lifestyle with access to the mountains, kayaking in our back yard, hiking, and biking trails while still being within an easy drive of major metropolitan areas in the Pacific Northwest. We are avid travelers and I enjoy cooking so have the kitchen of my dreams in our home we custom built. We love to camp, bike, and experience other lifestyles and cultures.
