About this listing
I am renting out a large room in my 3 bedroom apartment, located in the south Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, with easy access to North Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Bed-Stuy. The room has a 16 foot ceiling, and contains a single bed on the ground floor, and a queen size bed and a small cot in a lofted bed space accessible by ladder; the ground floor has a closet, reading chair and desk, and the upstairs has some living area as well. It could easily fit 3, or 1 or 2 very comfortably. Easy access to the J, M, and G train, and to the growing Bushwick bar and art scene. There's one bathroom and a fairly high-functioning kitchen, and business-class internet access.
I reside here with my occassional roommate, it's sort of a very clean hippy collective here, with a music studio, drum kit, etc., though I can assure you we never play past 9, and we're very well behaved. Weekdays the house is pretty quiet; weekends we try to keep things fairly contained, but won't mind guests doing some lounging and drinking so long as it doesn't turn into a full-blown party. My space would be ideal for a week-long stay for small groups of traveling friends, we're pretty friendly and love out-of-towners, but families would probably not find the situation ideal. It would also be ideal for low-key days during the week as we have good access to trains to anywhere you want to go, and are pretty studious/professional on the weekdays. The room allows privacy for couples and groups of friends as it is large enough to chill in and has a single door that closes it off from the rest of our space.
Smoking is allowed by the kitchen vent or in the back-lot area. The building sports a roof deck that overlooks South Williamsburg, Bed-Stuy, and a bit of Lower Manhattan. Quick access to the Williamsburg Bridge and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and ample street parking in the area.
We're dog-friendly. Check in is flexible, just let me know, and you can leave your bags for a bit on a check out day if you need.
We don't mind a little lounging and drinking but wouldn't want guests to attract parties to the place. Smoking is allowed by our kitchen vent. Please turn off the air conditioner when you're leave the room.
Andras was very helpful and communicated very well. My friend and I had a great stay there. The place was very clean and well maintained, and looked exactly how it did in the pictures. I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again or recommending to a friend!
We are a family of four (phone number hidden)) and we spent 6 nights in the flat. The location is great, very easy to reach Manhattan from there (one day we even walked from there to lower Manhattan thru the Brooklyn bridge). Three of us slept "upstairs", one downstairs: it gets a bit crowded, but if you can live with that, it's ok. It does get hot, especially upstairs: the air conditioning is quite noisy and the cool air stays down anyway. We kept it off. Overall a very good experience, but you have to be adaptable and not too picky about cleanness.
My friend and I had a great stay. The loft area was fantastic. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Bustling area, close to transportation. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location right beside a Subway stop which was perfect for 2 out of towners. We didn't spend much time in the flat to be honest other than sleeping but it worked really well for us.
We had a great time in NYC and a wonderful time in the Brooklyn apartment! Neel and Andras have been really nice and relaxed hosts! Event though we all shared one bathroom, we never had traffic jam in front of the door :) Thanks again for a great week in a great city!
About the Host, Neel
I'm originally from rural Pennsylvania, I run a small financial company and am a computer programmer, and occasionally dabble in the literary and musical arts, including recently some computer art.
Below it suggests including a life motto. Mine would be: "love, create, explore, and relax!"
