I am renting out a large room in my 3 bedroom apartment, located in the south Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, with easy access to North Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Bed-Stuy. The room has a 16 foot ceiling, and contains a single bed on the ground floor, and a queen size bed in a lofted bed space accessible by ladder; the ground floor has a closet, reading chair and desk, and the upstairs has some living area as well. It could easily fit 3, or 1 or 2 very comfortably. Easy access to the J, M, and G train, and to the growing Bushwick bar and art scene. There's one bathroom and a fairly high-functioning kitchen, and business-class internet access.
I reside here with my occassional roommate, it's sort of a very clean hippy collective here, with a music studio, drum kit, etc., though I can assure you we never play past 9, and we're very well behaved. Weekdays the house is pretty quiet; weekends we try to keep things fairly contained, but won't mind guests doing some lounging and drinking so long as it doesn't turn into a full-blown party. My space would be ideal for a week-long stay for small groups of traveling friends, we're pretty friendly and love out-of-towners, but families would probably not find the situation ideal. It would also be ideal for low-key days during the week as we have good access to trains to anywhere you want to go, and are pretty studious/professional on the weekdays. The room allows privacy for couples and groups of friends as it is large enough to chill in and has a single door that closes it off from the rest of our space.
Smoking is allowed by the kitchen vent or in the back-lot area. The building sports a roof deck that overlooks South Williamsburg, Bed-Stuy, and a bit of Lower Manhattan. Quick access to the Williamsburg Bridge and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and ample street parking in the area.
We're dog-friendly. Check in is flexible, just let me know, and you can leave your bags for a bit on a check out day if you need.

Neel was a great host, everything was as promised. In fact, I watched him go way above and beyond for another guest while I was there.
The room was like the photo. you have a lot of space there. The location was good. It's a 5 min walk to the subway.
the room was clean and really large and spacious, as stated in the description. it was really cosy too and neel was really helpful and flexible with working around timings. would recommend it for short stays and for a small party of 3-4.
Really cheap, cozy, spacious, clean apartment close to a major thoroughfare and all the public transportation you can need. Place is as pictured and hosts were welcoming and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.
Nice Apt. Well located. neel was vert helpful And available. Great expérience.
We stayed 2 nights at this nice place. Lovely, big room. The location is perfect. It is in a nice neigbourhood and close to the subway. Neel is a friendly, helpful and relaxed guy. Thanks!
We didn't have a good experience there… Even though the apartment is spacious and near the subway, we weren't satisfied at all.
We arrived as scheduled and we were 'welcomed' without a smile in a dirty place: a lot of dust on the floor and under the bed, dust and hairs in the bathtub, the blankets and the towels were not dry, the beds were not done, there was an USED CONDOM on the bed, the bedroom was very cold (just a little heater; the big one smelt the gas when we switched it on).
Neel didn't apologized and said he was expecting us later (but we warned him before, and the plane was on time). When we cleaned the bathroom, he didn't react.
We only stayed one week in New York, so it was too short to move to another accommodation, but we were really disappointed about this experience. We would have preferred that the contact with the host was better and we don't mind about rustic conditions, but that was beyond acceptable limits…
Neel is a very nice and considerate person. My friends and I had a good experience during our staying at his home. We was late to his place due to our unfamiliarity of the MTA systems and the traffic jam in NYC. He was patiently waiting for us until 12 am at night. He is respecful and polite. The high ceiling room with a small lofted area was very spacious. The place was clean. The location of this lodging place is especially convenient for travelers getting into Manhattan.
Great stay at a great spot! Neel was very communicative and helpful. The location is close to the subway making it easy to get around. All of the accommodations were comfortable and clean. He was also very flexible on check in times based on our flight arrival. We were especially at home being that we are musicians as well and felt safe there. I plan to stay again the next time I visit NYC! Thanks Neel!
Neels apartment is a great place to stay in Brooklyn. It is both close to the subway and in a neighborhood for young people. Also the host (in this case his roommate) is very friendly and gave us a great recommending where to go/what to do in the closer area. He/they are very flexible with check in&out.
