I only spent one night at Avril's, but I have only good things to say. The place is just gorgeous (I love the kitchen and bathroom), the bed was comfortable and Avril was very nice and accomodating. Also, the location is the best in Cape Town! Boo-Kaap is such a nice and colorful neighborhood. Make sure you visit Haas for the best coffee ever - and to look at hipsters ;)
Avril's place is the best. Seriously, I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Cape Town. The neighborhood is stunningly picturesque, her dog is shockingly cute and sweet, the room has great light, and is very quiet, and Avril is a great host.
GREAT location. In heart of BoKaap, area on LP's top 10 "must see" Capetown list. Avril, owner, very helpful w/arrival&departure arrangements.
Dear Avril, dear everyone,
we had a splendid time in Bo-Kaap - Avril was a very pleasant, helpful, open-minded and charming host, as well as her housekeeper Rose and - last but not least - her dog Monster, one of the coolest dogs in the southern hemisphere.
If you can get the chance to stay in Chiappini Street DO IT!
The room is nice, the apartment in total even nicer, the location in the city ab-so-lu-te-ly fantastic (the cool spots are all in a walking distance - and don't miss your first breakfast at Haas, an awesome Café right around the corner in Church Street.)
Thanks for having us, Avril, and hoping to be back soon (then with a Braai if your time allows it).
Cheers, love'n'hugs from Hamburg,
Justus & Johanna
Dear Avril, thanks for having us! Beautiful apartment in a perfect location. Her place is very clean and comfortable, with a view at the table mountain. The location is in a quiet area of Cape Town, but still central and with good parking possibilities.
We had a really nice stay at Avril's place!
For a stay in Cape Town this is the most beautiful place!!! Living right in the middle of colourful Bo-Kaap was a special experience on my trip. Avril is a wonderful host. She even cooked Dinner and joined me at a concert what was really nice. Having Dinner with her together in the stunning backyard was a pleasure. I would choose this place every time again.
Staying at Avril's place was a lovely way to end my (way to short) visit in Cape Town. She is kind, helpful and a very pleasant person to talk to - I'd highly recommend to stay with her in Bo-Kaap if you've got the chance.
Great stay we had with Avril. Great host pity we missed out on dinner... next time she wouldn't be so lucky. Walking distance to some great restaurants, bars and some lounges to just hang around in the centre of Cape Town. All in all great stay.
We enjoyed our stay in Cape Town very much. It's an ideal location to do the sightseeing and have fun in the evenings or just stay in the small and cosy yard. Avril is very nice, helpful and a great host.
this is a place packed full of character, both the Bo Kaap area and the flat which Avril shares with you. You can walk to everywhere - the museums, the waterfront, the happening Long street shops and restaurants. Its brash and certainly not boring, and if you're lucky, you'll be treated to the brass band competition during the night and early morning - which you can watch leaning out of your bedroom window sill.
