About this listing
Escape from the bustle of the city, to the serenity of a gorgeous, 7-acre estate located in a lovely neighborhood just outside Lake Worth, TX (on the western edge of Fort Worth); where you can retreat, relax and revive in true country-style luxury.
This rustically-elegant ranch house is a true gem, nestled on a white-fenced property secluded amidst oak trees and naturally manicured grounds. You will delight in beautiful views of rolling, scenic acreage from every window-filled spot in the house. Enjoy coffee, cocktails or dining on the front veranda overlooking a lovely meadow and natural pond with birds and wildlife.
The rental area is comprised of two separate structures: A 1500-sq ft, custom-built home, designed by acclaimed Fort Worth architect, Weldon Turner, with hand-poured, colored-glass inset windows accenting its thick Granbury stone walls, wood floors, and 20’-high wood ceilings with huge, rough-honed, wooden beams. The second building is a ridiculously cool, 700-sq ft, free-standing, private theater, where you can watch TV, select from a wide-variety of DVD’s or listen to music as loud as you like! This plush entertainment center seats 8 in chairs. It is acoustically-insulated with 15’ movie screen, surround-sound, a wet bar and a guest bath; making it optimal for your viewing and listening pleasure, entertaining, meetings and presentations.
The main house comfortably sleeps two in a queen size bed in the large master bedroom, which opens onto a beautiful, flagstone patio.
Enjoy cooking in our incredible, open, gourmet kitchen, with commercial gas stove and convection oven, dishwasher, Sub-Zero fridge, outdoor infrared BBQ and separate electric smoker; or, have gourmet meals prepared for you by our local chef and served for your casual convenience.
Just a few of the property’s other special amenities include a signature-style great-room offering an integrated dining and living room experience (with extra-tall French doors that open onto the front veranda - fabulous for entertaining), fireplace, a separate sitting library, 2 big screen TVs (in addition to the movie screen at the theater), large walk-in shower and tub in the master bath, plenty of closet space, and a guest baths’ in both the house and the theater.
Our guests take pleasure in having nature just steps outside the door, where two flagstone patios provide relaxing views, and where the outdoor dining settings can be enjoyed.

Property is located in a small, upscale, well-manicured neighborhood with very friendly neighbors; a safe and lovely place for enjoyable walks, day or night. For extremely close dining, there is an excellent Mexican restaurant where you can enjoy upscale cuisine in causal attire (without the upscale pricing you might expect), and a lovely winery/bistro for lunch or dinner, with live jazz on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month, April through November (both just down the street - less than 3 minutes away). Also, killer pizza and an AMAZING taco truck - less than 5 minutes away.
No public transport that I am aware of, but close to local shopping, restaurants, dry cleaners, etc., in Lakeside, Lake Worth and White Settlement. An easy drive (about 20 min), with rarely any traffic, to Fort Worth proper.

This place was perfect! Great location, great features, great amenities. It is cozie for special trips yet it will inspires you to comeback with friends and family to entertain, celebrate and relax. When you need to recharge, this is the place to go. The owners take pride in their property- they take care to ensure every aspect of your stay will be perfect. Highly recommended.
The place was exactly as I had hoped—secluded, restful, scenic and quiet. It was the perfect getaway from the fray. The style of both the main house and the theater were great and the host, Amy, was very helpful and conscientious. I hope to go back soon for another getaway.
This was the best vacation ever.. I was welcomed so warmly...Amy is on site and is such a gracious hostess and is there to help with anything you might need.
The place is beautiful and so relaxing... you just melt away and all stress goes out the door. The nice thing is you are also near town so if you need a city fix it is close by..
couldn't rave enough about Oak Mill it is truly a unique place and unique experience.
What a fantastic place. Everything about my stay here was so perfect. Pictures can't do this place justice. Its so much better in person. The location is great, far enough away to get some peaceful rest from the hustle and bustle but close enough to run back in town if necessary. Comfy bed, beautiful place and an amazing theater room with tons of great movies to pick from. On site host was so accommodating to my every request. Can't wait to return.
This place is every bit as nice as the pictures lead you to believe. I came here to get away and think as I contemplated a job change - doing interviews and such, studying, etc. Its quiet enough to sit and relax while studying and close enough to the city that I can easily access interviews. My dog loves this place as well although I fear I may have spoiled her too much. Going to have to find a very large yard for her at my next place. Highly recommend staying here if in the area.
We really loved this place,it is just like the pictures show.......Amy is very sweet and helpful, any question you have she can answer.....the place is right next to a winery and great mexican good place......a great place to relax......LOVED IT!!!
The family (myself, the lady, and the pup) needed a temporary home in Fort Worth while finishing some last job tasks before a big move. This place was AMAZING!
It is an incredible 'escape destination'. Situated on a huge plot of land, we felt like we were living the private resort life with the amenities offered. Gorgeously designed home with a kitchen pro chefs would approve and a theatre to make all of your friends jealous... I felt like I was coming home to a vacation holiday every night.
The neighborhood is extremely family friendly. It is about a 20 minute trek from downtown Fort Worth and I feel well worth the distance for the feeling of 'getting away'. The host and on-property manager we extremely attentive.
Pictures are VERY accurate and still can't fully portray the experience. Quite memorable and perfect ending to our chapter in Fort Worth, Texas.
About the Host, William
I travel a lot. Have been all over Europe, and other parts of the world. I split my living time between Texas and California. I hope that you enjoy your time at The Oak Mill Estate as much as I always do!!!
