This two bedroom residence is located on Queens Rd., one of the prettiest tree-lined avenues in the city, in the prestigious neighborhood of Myers Park. Created by famous landscape architect John Nolen in 1911, Myers Park's curving avenues, gracious homes and small parks combine to create one of the South's most livable neighborhoods, less than a mile from Uptown.
We've maintained the character of the historic 1920's apartment building, while completely updating and renovating the interior. Stainless appliances with granite countertops, new heating and cooling systems and plumbing provide modern amenities, while the original refinished hardwoods, bathroom tile, graceful arched doorways and 2-panel doors provide the charm so often absent in new construction.
Large double-hung windows let in an abundance of light in all of the rooms, and the screened porch allows you to enjoy the outside, whether for breakfast in the morning or for a drink or meal in the evening. The apartment is located on the ground floor, to the rear of the building, so it's quiet and private with easy access. Off-street parking is also provided.
The galley kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, etc., a gas range with convection oven, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, disposal, and a stackable washer and dryer. Off of the kitchen, a dining area comfortably seats four but can seat up to six.
In the large living room, upholstered furniture provides comfortable seating, a flatscreen television offers entertainment options, and a desk and wifi enable business travelers to work.
400-thread-count linens and thick Egyptian cotton towels offer all of the comforts of home, and each bedroom has a generous closet and a television. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the second a queen. The sofa in the living room converts to a queen sized bed.
Wide sidewalks and towering oaks throughout the neighborhood provide an ideal place for walking or jogging, and a coffee shop, multiple restaurants (including Ethiopian, Thai, casual and fine Italian, etc.), shopping and even an independent movie theater are a half mile away. Spring through fall, a farmers market is open Wed, Fri and Sat around the corner from the apartment, and a new greenway offers a convenient connection to Freedom Park, Dilworth and Carolinas Medical Center.
Ideal for short- or long-term stays for business or pleasure, or when visiting someone at either CMC or Presbyterian Hospitals, our goal is for you to feel at home during your stay. We'll try hard to accommodate almost any special request and we live less than 2 miles away, so are readily available should something come up. We look forward to hosting you.

Very professional. Fantastic hosts!
Amazing hospitality with the perfect touches of a few snacks and open bar, thoughtful note and help in navigating the neighbourhood. We'd definitely come again!
Loved this place. We were a small group staying for a conference downtown and this was a great choice. Convenient, very nice, comfortable - just downright better than a hotel. Loved the neighborhoods nearby to jog through, too. Jim was very easy to work with and really made sure we were taken care of.
We stayed at Myers Park #3 for 7 nights while visiting my sister. The apartment comfortably fits 3 people; 4 is cozy. The listing says 6, but with one bathroom, that would be very snug. The check-in and check-out process were very streamlined; you can tell the company has been doing this for years, and we were given a lot of information via email leading up to our trip. Pros: Loved the décor. I always trend toward the stylishly-appointed Airbnb rentals, and this one was no exception. The hosts were very thoughtful in that they had a lot of yummy treats (including booze!) waiting for us when we arrived. It seems the other units in the building were also rentals as there was a whole lot of foot traffic, people coming in and out of the other seven units. The location was killer—tucked away on leafy Queens Road among million-dollar homes—and very central. The house is an older building of 100+ years old and reminded me a lot of the charming, character-filled 1906 home we inhabited in San Francisco for several years. A few things (like the shower, which toggles back and forth between steaming hot and ice cold) reflect the age, while others (like the kitchen) have been updated. The back porch area was a nice place to read and spend the afternoons, as my parents did while my husband and I worked. Potential Cons: The construction. From sun up to sun down, there was loud hammering/drilling/etc. going on in the building backing the apartment (we were not told this up front). This is irrelevant if you’re staying here, say, six months from now (August 2013), but it definitely doesn’t look like the building is going to be complete anytime soon, and all that banging sure is noisy. The bathroom situation. We realized there would be two bedrooms and one bathroom when we booked, but didn’t realize the bath would be small and smack between the two bedrooms as a connector. In other words, don’t share this apartment with others around whom you’re shy… My major qualm—and this is a big one for me—is that Internet is virtually non-existent. My husband and I run three companies and must be connected all the time; thus, it was quite the pitfall that we couldn’t use WiFi from the house, as the Internet connection drops every minute or two. If you’re truly on vacation or just traveling for a weekend, this probably doesn’t matter to you, but to the two of us, it was a huge deal as we were there for an entire week during our busy season for work and had to set up camp at Whole Foods daily rather than work out of the home we rented, so it’s worth mentioning to other traveling entrepreneurs. That said, when the construction subsides, I would stay here again for a long weekend (or a full week if the Internet situation were remedied), as the price and location were both...
Thanks so much for staying with us, and for letting us know about the issues you had during your stay. Please accept our sincere apologies.
As you note, our prime location in the prestigious the Myers Park neighborhood is hard to beat. We own most of the other condos in the building, and we typically have a full house. During your stay, we were hosting a family relocating to Charlotte from Australia, a in-town couple renovating their home, an executive with a Fortune 500 company (here for 3+ months) and a 4th time guest who stays with us for a month each year.
We really go out of our way to ensure a comfortable stay for all of our guests, and we address any issues that arise as soon as we know about them.
Unfortunately we didn't know about these issues until we read your review! And therefore we were never given the opportunity to correct the issues or to reaccommodate you.
We take pride in our responsiveness, and answer most all of our guests' calls within the first ring or 2, and are typically on-site within minutes of a call if needed. I can totally understand your frustration of not having a steady hot shower or a stable internet connection. And I also wish we had more control over adjacent properties and their construction activities. The screened porch in the condo is one of its best features, and I'm sorry your parents weren't able to enjoy it more due to the noise. When you made your reservation in April, we were unaware of the plans for the vacant property next to ours. If they were working past permitted hours, we could have contacted the city to address the situation had we known about the situation.
So that we can address issues when they arise, we provide multiple contact numbers in all of our email correspondence, as well as in the welcome letter we provide for guests' arrival. We also send an email the day before departure, asking guests to inform us of any items that may need our attention, to ensure they are addressed before the next guest arrives. We are accessible 24/7/365 and had we known about any of issues you had, my partner James or I would have been there to address the situation immediately.
The condo has newer (5-year-old) plumbing, and we've not had other guests with hot water issues (including the current guest) so I'm not sure what was causing the problem. We would have done our very best to fix it asap if we'd known there was an issue. If for some reason the problem was unable to be corrected, we would have reaccommodated you in one of 20+ furnished residences we own with 2 miles of Uptown Charlotte.
Our other residences have different floorplans which may have better suited your needs. One of our 2br/1ba residences in the nearby Dilworth neighborhood, https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/113243, for instance, has the bathroom in the hall rather than in between the bedrooms, and is also a ground-floor apartment with a screened porch. And we offer several 2br/2ba residences, each with an ensuite bathroom in the bedroom, including this condo in the same building: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/362951 and our most deluxe residence, around the corner on Hermitage Court in Myers Park, with 2br/2.5ba, heated tile floors in the master bath, a fireplace, wetbar, and more: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/673355
We travel extensively ourselves, and understand how important a reliable and fast internet connection is. To that end, we have two different internet companies providing service to the building, including wideband internet (50 mbps), along with the latest generation, best-rated ASUS access points. The channels the wifi operates on were selected to reduce overlap and interference from other wifi signals in the area. Since nothing is 100% reliable, we also have a backup hotspot on hand that we would have been glad to bring to you until the situation was resolved.
Many of our guests are business men and women who are tired of hotels, whose #1 requirement is a reliable internet connection, thus the redundancies we have built in to the system. I'm very sorry something was apparently not working correctly for you.
Thanks again for staying with us, and we look forward to hosting you again the next time you're in town.
What a great apartment in a beautiful neighborhood! We really enjoyed our stay and had a great experience.
This was the perfect spot for my mini vacation to Charlotte. Its even better in person. Jim & James are great hosts. I would definitely stay again.
Communication was great. Once I arrived the place feels just like home. Rooms are spacious, bright and clean. There are plenty of linens and amenities if you forgot to bring something. Love the living room and television. I chose this house because it could accommodate 8 of us Based upon size and price, I can easily recommend this property, and it is close to downtown. the kitchen was stocked with condiments, and the washer-dryer convenient. We were even greeted with a welcome tray of snacks. Thank you Lisa, and don’t forget to mind your keys.
The apartment was wonderful for a long weekend. We were in town for a wedding and the apartment was an excellent base for getting around the city. Lots of great, personalized touches and a killer sleeping porch.
The condo was delightful and charming. Jim and James had thoughtfully provided all the comforts of home, even umbrellas. The kitchen was well-equipped and I was impressed with the over-all cleanliness.
Will definitely stay with them again and recommend to friends.
Great apartment - very comfortable and everything was close by. Much better alternative than staying in a hotel - it really felt like we were staying in someone's home. The restaurant recommendations were spot-on - East 300 should be on everyone's list of places to eat and their cocktails are excellent.
Would recommend staying here to anyone and would defnitely look Jim and James up next time we are looking to stay in the area.
