Eryl Y Mor family room

House - Private room · Brynymor Road, Aberystwyth, Wales SY23, United Kingdom

The Space

3 bedrooms available in large Victorian house on the hill above Aberystwyth. 5 minutes from the beach, 10 from the town, with views of the sea from the house. Large garden and quiet area, with lovely coastal path walks from the doorstep. On the West coast of mid Wales, Aberystwyth lies on the coast of Cardigan Bay, and benefits from mountains, cliff paths, as well as theatre, cinema and art exhibitions almost on the doorstep.

The house is warm, welcoming and relaxed, but probably not super-tidy! Breakfast is available if requested, for small extra charge, which can be standard, vegetarian, vegan, dairy free, wheat free or gluten free. Use of the kitchen can be negotiated with the owner, Susie, who lives on the premises.

Susie welcomes all visitors, from all countries, backgrounds and cultures. There are two bathrooms in the house, but one is for the owner's sole use. The shared bathroom has shower cubicle, toilet and bath.

Aberystwyth is on the Wales Coastal path, which, which consists of 870 miles of beautiful coastline, all available for walkers. The paths are easily accessible from the house on foot. It is also very close to the southern part of the Snowdonia National Park, with Cader Idris being 40 mins drive away. Views of the mountains are stunning, particularly from the coastal path.
Also available. Friendly one to one art tuition. All ages and abilities welcome. £10 per hour.

  • Susie was a perfect host. The room was lovely as was the house. It was only a few minutes walk from the center of town. Susie made herself available to be home to meet me with the keys. The house is quiet and clean. Breakfast was delicious! I would certainly stay there again if I'm back in Aberystwyth.

  • Very calm and friendly place. Comfortable beds, absolutely silent at night. A nice cosy living room to sit in, and the kettle always on! Susie is a conscientious host, and made me feel really welcome, while letting me get on with my scheduled work. Top marks.

  • Large, warm peaceful room close to the prom- what else could you ask for? Susie was a brilliant host. Hotels in Aber had better watch out!

  • Ah, a home from home- in a very nice part of Aberystwyth, up the hill near the beach. A tasteful and well loved family home with beautiful pictures on the walls. I was greeted with tea and biscuits in Susies living room, by the blazing fire. I was in Aberystwyth for an event at the Arts Center, as were Susies other 2 guests and we all found out that we more or less knew each other, by only a degree or two of seperation.
Comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a feast of a breakfast!

  • It was a pleasure to have Susie as a host, great quiet room, clean, as expected, no surprises! I'd be happy to recommend to anyone seeking accommodation. It's walking distance from the city and the pier with lots of restaurants and shops.

  • We had a really good experience staying at Susie's house. We needed a place to stay fairly quickly and Susie was very prompt and helpful with her responses. The house is very nice and Susie welcomed us with a cup of tea, some biscuits and some very relaxed conversation. Lovely location as well - just a couple of minutes to the seaside.

  • We enjoyed staying with Susie for 3 nights in July so much we booked again when we came back to Aberyswyth in August. The house is very central on a quiet road, a short walk downhill to the beach. It's a well loved shabby chic home, with a ground floor big family bathroom with bath and shower shared with other guests. We had the family room with double bed and single bed and a big bay window. Very comfy. We slept very well on both stays. Breakfast in the living room- with really good coffee.

Be aware there are steps up to the front door and parking is a couple of minutes up the hill, so not the place to stay if you need easy access. This is simple accommodation with a really warm welcome. If you want an art class, or to know where there's some live music, Susie will probably be able to advise.
