The Space

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION:

Nestled away in a gorgeous gated mews just 3 minutes walk (2 easy blocks) from Borough Tube, is a sanctuary of safety and quiet. Right in the heart of the city, this cosy, functional, stylish room is just a 10 minute walk from London Bridge and The Shard, and a stones throw from Borough Market. With your own private entrance, and access to the rest of this magnificent town house this room offers a wonderful way to experience life in central London, and is perfect place to stay for those wanting something more personal than, but with all the details and comforts of, a hotel.

If you are looking for all of the comforts of a central London luxury hotel, but also want the benefit of all the inside knowledge of an enthusiastic London host, at a fraction of the cost of a comparable room in a hotel - then you have found what you are looking for!

This is probably the largest and highest quality property on Airbnb in London! Your hosts travel for the majority of the year and know well what makes a great hotel stay, so we work hard to recreate that in our own home for you as our guests.

YOUR PRIVATE QUARTERS

Your room and bathroom are located on the lower ground floor, which can be accessed via a private entrance. The entire floor is at your disposal, so you can enjoy some privacy. On your floor you will also find a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, which you are welcome to use.

Bedroom – The bedroom suite is 130 sq ft (12 sq m) in size and has its own entrance area and separate shower room. It gets plenty of natural light coming through the beautiful wooden sash windows, though of course, if you are having a lie-in you can block this out completely using the double layered blinds.

There's a King sized bed with a deep 3” goose down topper, and 500 thread count bed sheets. There's plenty of storage space with a large wardrobe, set of drawers and luggage rack, as well as a full-length mirror.

The room comes complete with an iPad so that you can control the in-ceiling surround sound system, enabling you to play any music ever made or almost every radio station around the world directly to your bed. The iPad also allows you to plan your itinerary or check the house manual to answer most questions that you may have about the room or your stay.

There is also a flat-screen TV with integrated DVD player and 50MB high speed wireless internet throughout the house.

We've provided a bone china tea set (according to tea people this apparently keeps tea hotter for longer!), a kettle, a selection of teas (Peppermint, Organic Green, Every day, Wild Berry, Earl Grey, Chamomile) and caramel biscuits.

On your bed awaits a gift box containing a welcome pack, your set of keys, towelled slippers, and some other surprise items we thought you'd like for a great stay.

Ensuite – Villeroy & Boch sanitaryware with luxurious oversized rainshower, marble shelving and a vanity unit which provides ample space for your toiletries, mirror, and shaving socket with both UK & US voltage. Two fluffy towels, and two bath robes, bath mats, fine scottish hand wash and hand cream are also provided.

Note: Please note that the bedroom is located very close to the utility room, however we will not use it at night or in any way that disturbs you or creates any noise.

Guest Access

As our guest you have access to our huge mews townhouse, set in a private gated estate, between two Grade II listed Georgian squares and amongst calm leafy streets in what is affectionately referred to as Trinity Village - a quiet oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the Borough area in the Heart central London and just 2 minutes walk from the Tube.

The house is over 4000 sq ft (370 sq m) in size and spans four floors elegantly designed for grand living, with tall ceilings, stonewashed ivory oak flooring, floor to ceiling sash windows and an enclosed private garden. We have lovingly decorated our home with artwork and photography from our travels around the world, as well as those very special items that make it feel like home and reflect the area’s British heritage.

This listing offers the entire lower ground floor of the house privately for your use, comprising a 130 sq ft (12 sq m) bedroom with a king sized bed, adjoining private ensuite bathroom and your own separate entrance into the property. It offers excellent privacy whilst you also have the benefit of full use of the garden and hot tub!

The apartment is located in the heart of central London, just a two minute walk from the nearest tube stop, perfectly located for both tourists and business guests.

We are experienced Airbnb hosts and are confident that your stay with us will be a pleasure - please take some time to read previous reviews.

  • Great visit with Jamie and Eric! Unit is very well located, an easy walk to/from the Borough tube stop and Borough Market. It is very quiet and peaceful. Boarders should be sure to take Jamie's recommendation and have breakfast at Terry's - outstanding! We would definitely stay there again!

  • I stayed in this room for the second time. Jamie was not there himself, but that did not stop him from making my stay a great experience again.

  • From the moment we booked I knew by the reviews that Jamie's hospitality and home would be more than comfortable,in fact luxurious, clean and just gorgeous.Jamie communicated very promptly with me regarding any queries, which was extremely helpful considering it was our first airbnb experience and we did nit know that area of London.Upon arrival the bedroom was everything that we had seen on the site and much more... luxurious and comfortable, the bed was very spacious and plush..... the Ipad was a big hit,the tea set was on a tray with welcome biscuits which was very comforting and much needed. The bathrobes were in perfect condition, and we used the slippers every day of our stay which just added to the wealth of comfort. The towels were absorbent and plush and the bathroom just fantastic.I loved being able to do our laundry and really felt like we had our own apartment downstairs.Having a hot cup of tea after ten hours of walking around London was really the icing on the cake....and being able to truly sleep well in the very quiet bedroom. The house is very quiet and you have your own entrance.I loved meeting the roommates and had a space in the fridge and cupboards for our food. There are two grocery stores a few minutes walk away, making everything super easy. The kitchen is majestic and the courtyard and jacuzzi with a view of the Shard very tranquil and relaxing.Everyone was extremely friendly and we felt very much at home from the moment we walked in....Jamie even met us at the (email hidden)e code works beautifully as do the keys.I would certainly highly recommend Jamie's wonderful home to anyone traveling through London who would like a quiet and luxurious home to relax in,with very close proximity to all of London's best sights.I will never stay in a London hotel again....and hope to be back soon!!The books on London were very much appreciated as well...thank you Jamie for a truly wonderful stay.

  • Excellent accommodation, friendly host, and fantastic Central London location.

    March 2014

  • You cannot explain in words how incredibly beautiful this house is.... I mean... it's an actual HOUSE in the center of LONDON! That in and of itself is a rarity and makes it so very special!

With a floor all to yourself, you have all the privacy you need. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom very clean and modern. Small luxuries like slippers, bathrobes and towel warmers really make this room feel more like a 5 star hotel.

Jamie and the flat mates are so very nice and seem like a lot of fun as well - unfortunately we were in town for work and had minimal time to hang out at the house, which we wish we could have done more!! We didn't get a chance to use the jacuzzi, yes that's right this HOUSE, in the middle of LONDON, also has a JACUZZI!!!! Next time for sure!!!

If you are visiting London, staying with Jamie is highly recommended!

  • I had a great time in a beautiful room in a very luxurious house.
I had to catch up some sleep during the day, which has always been a challenge in London. But this location was excellent, away from the busy traffic. Jamie, the host, really does everything he can to make his guests' stay to a great experience.
For me personally it would have been even better if there was some space for a desk in the room and if I would have access to a refrigerator, but I will for sure return.

  • 'Hello, Jamie,

We really had a great time in London and in your home. We know London quite well from previous trips, but we particularly enjoyed this stay.
Thank you again for your recommendation for a 'typical British breakfast' – what a great place!
Jamie, your home is definitely a place we'd love to return to some time soon. '

  • Excellent host and a fantastic view from the hot tub.
This place is a great little secret away from home in London.
Great amenities and accommodated for our needs too.
Keep us informed of any changes and great location to the station.
This will be recommended to others that I know that need to get away from the city while being in the city.

About
We really enjoy hosting guests and creating a special stay for you. That is because we are tidy, have attention to detail, and a love for hotels. We are also very proud of both London and our house, and love Airbnb as it lets us share both with other nice people! We are always keen to help you have the best trip to London, whether it be finding the best local restaurant, the fastest way to a meeting, or a special extra touch for a romantic weekend away. Jamie : I’m sociable and friendly, but know when people need their own space. Enthusiastic, open minded, and sporty, with a love of politics. Passionately British, but not eccentric! I spend most of my time trying to resist ski expeditions, kite surfing trips, or water-skiing. I like to think that I can get on with anyone, from any background and any age. Eric : I'm a friendly guy that loves pulling pranks on my boyfriend Jamie. I am a proud Australian and have lived in London for nearly 2 years. I have a terrible travelling bug that grows everyday within me. I love my premier league and support Arsenal. *CONTROVERSIAL* I also enjoy a night out on the town, so I can recommend where to go, for a good time. If you have any questions, just ask.
