The Space

At Wild Campion House you will find the perfect location to relax, unwind and embrace the beauty on your door step without having to get in your car. If you are looking for comfortable, clean, affordable and flexible accommodation then Wild Campion House is the place for you. It is my desire to provide a homely holiday base from which you can enjoy magical Cornwall with its beautiful beaches, rolling surf, coastal walks and chilled out pace.

Wild Campion house is less than a one minute stroll to the gorgeous Blue Flag beach of Porthtowan. Here you can catch a wave, hang out in the sand dunes or take to the coastal path for beautiful walks as far as you wish to go. The views are breath taking as the heath covered rocky cliffs, dotted with Cornish mine ruins, give way to the the clear blue of the Atlantic Ocean and its sandy beaches.

Whether a walker, a surfer or someone just looking to escape and soak up the natural beauty that is Cornwall, I hope we can offer everything you may be looking for.

It has got be good for the soul.

This room is newly furnished and freshly decorated with bunk beds and 100% cotton bedding. Suitable for adults and children as the memory foam mattresses are firm, good quality and provide for a comfortable nights sleep. The room also has a table, chair, mirror, chest of drawers and a hat stand to hang clothes.

Towels are provided and this room has a view out over the garden.

Towels are provided.

There is a parking space at the front of the property for your use.

You will share the upstairs bathroom and lounge room with no more than 2 other guests. The bathroom has a bath, shower, sink, toilet and is just along the landing. The comfortable lounge room, with sea view, log burner, tv, dvd player and plenty of books/dvds is a beautiful space to sit and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped and also has a dining area where you can sit and enjoy any cooking you may do. You will be provided with fridge and cupboard space.

There is also a garden at the back of the house, off the kitchen, where you can eat breakfast in the sun if you get lucky with the Cornish weather!.

The price quoted is for one adult, the price for a second adult is normally an extra £15 per night (therefore £22.50 per adult per night) but will be reduced depending on length of stay, time of year, and if you are travelling alone with a child; so please enquire for the full price for your booking.

I hope to make it more affordable for people travelling alone, or with children, as I know how difficult and expensive this can be.

I will always reduce the costs for stays over 4 nights.

You can help yourself to tea, coffee and milk but I do not provide breakfast.

Thank you.

  • Had a great time staying in porthtowan.... If your looking for a great base to explore up and down the Cornish coast that's on the beach with a very laid back friendly vibe this is the one!

Loobie is very easygoing and friendly and a great source of info about the local area and her house is nice and chilled with all the comforts of home. She also mixes a mean Crabbies ginger beer and loves to talk travel stories...

Cant go wrong staying here and theres wifi too.

    cheers justin

  • we really enjoyed our three days stay at Loobie's house although we were around most of the time.
the house has a great location by the sea, just 3 min walk down to sandy beach with some nice caffes. we also did some beautiful scenic walks around!
the house is so cosy and peaceful, very tidy and clean. rooms are lovely, nicely decorated! we could also use the kitchen and have tea or coffe at any times.
unfortunatelly we met Loobie and Olive not untill we had to leave. They seemed so warm and hearty! it was an easy sunny morning and we had a very pleasant and cheerful chat back in their flower garden. :)
we liked Cornwall and still have many places to see there so i'm sure we're coming back again to explore and enjoy some more and we'd definitely like to stay at Loobie's again!!
Obviously we higly recommend it! ;)

  • My teenage son and I stayed with Loobie and her daughter Olive - it should have been one night but we stayed for 6 nights in the end. Fantastic hosts, so welcoming and so helpful with their local knowledge. The house was clean, tidy and so very characteristic of the beach environment in it's decor. A relaxing atmosphere throughout. We had free usage of the kitchen, lounge and garden too. (As well as tv and dvd - essential for kids these days!)

We would love to go back as it was a great base to explore North Cornwall. We visited Lands End up to Newquay, The Eden Project at St Austells to Falmouth and Truro. My son loved Mount Hawke - the skate park so if taking kids, take scooters, skates, bmx's and skateboards!

The beach was exactly as described - beautiful and just 5 mins away by foot. The surfing (and lessons) plentiful, plenty of walks along the cliffs to nearby villages and little coves. The choice of eating establishments was impressive.

Many thanks, we had a fab time and would definitely return to Porthtowan if we can.

  • what a very cool experience. I loved Loobie and her daughter! What a beautiful pair! they live very close to the beach, the house and bedroom are very clean, quiet with really lovely warm decor. I only regret not getting to know them better!

  • We stayed 10 days there. Loobie's accommodation is exactly as described and very well kept, clean and tidy. It is a wonderful house near the beach, furnished and decorated with much love and one feels immediately well.

Porthatowan provides lot of activities as swimming, surfing and also as starting point for hiking or more visits through the Southwest of Cornwall. We visit from here also St. Ives, Truro,
St. Michel und Penzanze with a very interesting pool built in 1935, the Jubilee Pool. And: the best Cornish Icecream-> you will get it directly at the beach!!! ( we tried at any places in Cornwall, we have visited...). And if only relaxing is requested - it is a very calm place...

Loobie and also her daughter are very nice and warm persons, very helpful in all respects.

We had there great relaxing holidays! The combination of such great location, house and such famous hosts make this place to a very special one.

We hope staying in touch with Loobie and Olive!
    Recommend highly!

  • Loobie and Olive made me very feel so welcome .I had a very happy stay but only regret was that I didnt get as much time as I would have liked to chat, mainly because I was out early morning getting back late. We would have had so much to talk about Australia.
Hopefully I will be able to see them both again and will stay in touch.

  • Loobie's accommodation is exactly as described in her blurb. Very well kept and clean & tidy. It's also a wonderfully welcoming house, without being at all intrusive. Loobie gave some great advice on what to do and see in Cornwall, and directions for some fantastic walks nearby. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

  • Unfortunatly we met Loobie only very shortly. She and her daughter were both very nice and warm persons. We felt very welcome and we had a short and nice stay there. We would come back to her place any time again.
