  • This is possibly the most special riad in all of Morocco. I've been day dreaming of the roof terrace every day since I've been back!

We completely lucked out booking a room at Sam’s, he is as generous as he is kind and all I can say is that out trip wouldn't have been nearly as magical without having met him. His electricity bill arrived the same evening that we did... We were sitting on the terrace when a man strolled by below, said something in Berber (to which Sam responded) and then chucked a scrunched up bit of paper to us. Brilliant. Electricity bill done. We had so many moments like this, all of which where thanks to Sam’s willingness to share his Morocco with us.

He who dares wins Rodney. Or, ask Sam and you will be rewarded… He knows a lot about the local area and will always point you in a good direction. Paradise Valley is a must though, as is horse riding on the beach - definitely go for the two hour slot! If you’re travelling, make sure to ask about other lovely spots to stay up the coast as he knows many.

The riad itself is absolutely beautiful. Lots of nice white walls decorated with beautiful Moroccan detail, and the finest selection of rugs I've ever seen.

'Doing' was lovely at Mountain Riad, but also 'not doing' was equally as wonderful. Just being at Sam’s was one of the most calming experiences I can remember having recently, and lying in the sunshine listening to goats has to be one of my new favourite past times.

Thanks for an amazing trip Sam, can't wait to come back…. :)

  • Sam Stamper was a lovely host, his riad is the best in the region - good value for little money. Right at our arrival he invited us for a barbecue. Unfortunately I arrived ill from Holland due to the bad weather there and did not see him afterwards. The weather in Taghazourt is wonderful. In March it was full summer and even in July-August it's not too hot. Sam also has contacts with great people in Aït Bihi and Taghazourt so we did not only pay little for taxi's etc. but also met very good people, which, anyways, is the case in the region of Taghazourt and Agadir. The people there are totally nice, heartwarming, modest & polite. The neighbour - shopowner - invited us to eat. The nature is splendid, the people are terrific. Big 10 ++. Inès

  • Endroit très plaisant, dans un petit village juste au dessus de Taghazout. Idéal pour profiter de Taghazout, sans les inconvénients !
Accueil très sympa de Sam. Nous reviendrons sans hésitation.

  • For moroccan conditions a really nice, clean and quiet place to stay! Also enough space to place your sufboard and dry your wetsuit... And Sam is a really friendly and accommodating guy who gives you useful tipps for the country and helps you with any problems! A car is needed to get to the house. I would highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend a relaxed time in Taghazout!

  • Lovely big mountain Riad in a small friendly village, it was peaceful and quiet, even with other guests there it felt like you had the whole place to yourself. We had a nice clean room and the hot showers were great. There are lovely views down the coast from the big terrace and there is a lovely little herbgarden etc. Sam can help you with transfers and taxis and his dog is sweet. A good alternative to staying on the coast.
    Thanks Sam

About
Im originally from the north of England . I came to morocco the first time 11 years ago and fell in love. Then 5 years ago I returned for a 5 week holiday and after 2 weeks i rented a house for a year and decided to stay. five years later im still here Having spent 4 years living in Taghazout I longed for something a bit more traditional and less touristy and then found a run down riad in Ait bihi 2.9km into the mountains behind Taghazout and after spending the last 11 months renovating my Riad it has now become the hidden gem just outside Taghazout. With my years of experience in morocco I can show you the hidden beauty of Morocco and make sure you have a stay to remember. Your here for a good time not a long time ;)
