We can be involved in your stay as little or as much as you like. We live ten blocks away and are happy to help with travel arrangements and getting to know the city.
The park just a few blocks away has dog "off leash" area, sports fields, kids play gym and lay-about grass. A block from there is the coffee shop that also offers breakfast and lunch. Conveinence stores are close by, as are a few low-key bars. Best of all, the public transit is the perfect distance away--an easy two block walk but the sound of it is nil.
The main house has respectful accommodating adults, one child and a dog living in it. Respect for space, noise etc is given and expected. The dog tends to bark at new people but is an extreme sweetie and will soon be rolling over for you.
The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We were always able to park on the street right in front of the house- I loved not having to drive around looking for a place to park. The property, as well as the studio apt were nice, clean, modern and adequately equipped. Trust me you will enjoy this space just as much as we did. I also loved the many windows which bring in natural sunlight, and the large TV. The keypad made it super easy to come and go- there was no worrying about having a key to get back in, and we did not have to wait for Kim to arrive to let us into the apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay! The space was perfect for two people and the location was excellent. Close to mass transit and a few nice spots for food and drinks.
Awesome place! One of the best decorated pads on airbnb! Also loved the yard ;) Only a 5 minute walk to the train, we bought a day pass and rode the bus/train everywhere! Loved Jake's Famous Crawfish - best food and happy hour, great eclectic shopping on the eastside too! (#15 bus to 34th and Hawthorn). Kim was a great host - thanks for sharing your home with us ;)
Recommend -- I would stay here again. It had everything we needed from a fridge and toaster oven for late-night leftovers to a fenced in back area for our dog. There is also a park a block or two down the street. Super convenient.
Kim's place is stunning. The unit is compact but still spacious enough to include a full kitchen, TV and sofa, separate bed space and a beautiful bathroom. The location is good and there is a fantastic coffee shop called Seven Virtues around the corner. The only problem we had was that we couldn't get the heating to work (we followed the instructions but there seemed to be some problem getting the AC/Heating unit to spit out hot air) and were not able to get in touch with Kim despite texting and multiple calls. She did eventually respond (but many hours later after we had already gone to bed) so we were rather cold. I am sure that the unit usually works so this shouldn't be a persistent issue. Overall, we were pleased with this beautiful space and would stay again.
We loved this place! It's the perfect size for two people, very cool design elements and a great location. Several coffee shops in easy walking distance, restaurants and a light rail stop, and downtown and other great neighborhoods in easy driving distance. Would happily stay here again on our next visit to Portland.

Yoga instructor living in Portland, Oregon. Easy going, crafty, fun loving and looking for adventure. I am in love with a beautiful and creative man, Brian. Together we share an adorable doggy named Stuart and a small remodel business, KB Handyworks Co.
We love to hike, play games with friends, practice yoga, adventure outside, watch movies, cook food, and sit fireside. We aspire to play music, but haven't booked any gigs lately ;) We love surrounding ourselves with mindful and inspiring people.
