Interaction with Guests
We can be involved in your stay as little or as much as you like. We live ten blocks away and are happy to help with travel arrangements and getting to know the city. The apartment is in the backyard of a house that has permanent occupants in it. They are a lovely family.
The park just a few blocks away has dog "off leash" area, sports fields, kids play gym and lay-about grass. A block from there is the coffee shop that also offers breakfast and lunch. Conveinence stores are close by, as are a few low-key bars. Best of all, the public transit is the perfect distance away--an easy two block walk but the sound of it is nil.
The main house has respectful accommodating adults, one child and a dog living in it. Respect for space, noise etc is given and expected. The dog tends to bark at new people but is an extreme sweetie and will soon be rolling over for you. Please be mindful of the shared space and let us know if there's any problems. The apartment back patio is especially private for you and the house occupants do not use that area.
Very beautiful studio with great decorative details. Very comfortable bed! We stayed here the last night of our trip. It was a nice surprise to have an apple tv to airplay all our trip pictures. We walked 20 minutes to Thai Seasons, which was great. Not our most walkable stay in Portland.
We loved staying here. It was a perfect retreat and base to explore the city with an awesome set up, including a well-equipped kitchen and a great AV system for relaxing. We will definitely try to stay here again if in town.
Kim made us feel very welcome. The listing description was accurate and the place was even better than the photos posted! Kim gave great instructions for everything. We highly recommend staying in Kim's place.
Kim gave us thorough instructions on entering the house all before we arrived, so that made everything go very smoothly when we we actually did get to the house.
It was exactly as she described, and her information sheet was great! Everything went like clockwork . The "Stylish Digs" were delightful - just like stepping into the photographs. Everything was very comfortable and and inviting - colorful and cheery. Nice kitchen, bathroom w great shower -all new. The same goes for the living room area, new, clean and comfortable, with a great large TV.
I want to mention also, that the large outside space that accompanies this place was a treat. Outside rocking chairs on the porch etc., gave us a nice feeling of openess.
One minor thing I would mention is - the lighting is a little dim. Romantic is lovely, but would be nice if we had the ability to brighten it up if needed.
My husband and I would not hesitate to return, and would highly recommend it to others.
Kim's place was the 1st AirBnB my husband and I have stayed at. We stayed here for a month when relocating from New Zealand.
We were NOT disappointed, studio was fully furnished with what we would need for our 1st month here.
Close (walking distance) to local Fred Meyers, Trimet stop (NE 60th), local cafe Seven Virtues and also close to Mt Tabor & Rose City Parks. Short train trip into Downtown.
Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Portland :)
This place was exactly as pictured and the perfect amount of space for me and my girlfriend. The description mentions that it's a renovated garage but you honestly couldn't tell that it used to be a garage, more like a high end loft style apartment. The appliances were all new and the kitchen was well stacked with utensils and cooking tools and cleaning supplies. The walk up is on the side of the main house so you don't feel as though you're intruding on the guests staying in the other house (laundry is shared in the main house but it's in a mud room with a door that those guests can shut). The owners were very easy to communicate with and the door lock is a pass code so check in and out was simple. My only feed back for the owners would be to put a few more curtains up on the windows, particularly in the shower. The window in the shower was slightly above elbow height and, while it offered a refreshing breeze, was more revealing to backyard neighbors than I prefer. Overall a very pleasant stay and cheap uber ride away from downtown or populated restaurant areas (about $10 ride or 60/45 minute walk). Thank you for sharing your home with us!
The studio was peaceful, spacious and clean. Would have loved to stay longer. Kim was very proactive with her communication and extremely helpful
