Trevor is very nice and friendly. We had a good chat with him. We had stayed in his house for two nights. We felt as staying at home. I enjoyed cooking dinner in his kitchen. We had a good dinner with Trevor together.
The room is nice and big.
His house is closed to airport. It was convenient to go to Auckland town by bus. We can go out to eat by a few minutes walking distance.
Trevor and Deb made us feel extremely welcome in their home. Great location, close to the airport with a lovely view and very clean/tidy. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. A great place to recharge and organize the next leg of our travels.
Very clean and big room with comfortable bed and nice host. Only 10 minutes away from the airport by car. The perfect stay for our last night in Auckland.
Warm friendly welcome, both from both Trevor and his two very sweet dogs!
We didn't really have much of an opportunity to interact with Trevor due to a late arrival and an early start, but even in that short time we found him a most genial and welcoming host, who made us feel relaxed and at ease in his and Deb's home. The facilities were great, the house is in a nice area with easy access to restaurants and bars, and the room is super comfortable and cosy.
We had a wonderful time with Trevor and Deb. When we arrived Deb was working and Trevor gave us a very sweet welcome and orientation.
The house is very close and convenient to the airport (about 11 to 15 minutes depending on traffic) and, despite the fact that in the nice view of downtown Auckland from their dining area it looked very far away, it was actually extremely convenient to drive to the city taking only about 20 minutes to get right into the central harbor/museum/sky tower parking garage.
Trevor and Deb were amazingly honest and considerate and offered to let us us to cancel our reservation with them. When agreeing to stay with them we had said that having a room with a private bathroom was important to us, a number of weeks before we were to arrive Trevor wrote and told us that the house renovation work on their basement and downstairs bathroom had been delayed due to unexpected family events, the house was in a bit of disarray and they would have to share "our" bathroom with us. Therefore, they would understand if we wanted to cancel and find another BnB. We were glad that we decided to stay with them anyway.
They were easy to share a bathroom with and we enjoyed our times together especially the evening of talking, good cheese and sampling wine from the excellent Yeland Vineyards that Trevor worked for.
A plus for many people will also be the two adorable small dogs at the house. We were invited to play with them and their many toys in the house as well as to walk them if we wanted to!
Trevor and Deb's is a perfect place to stay at the beginning, or especially at the end of a trip as it is so close to the airport, so relaxing and in our case they they gave us an extra room to use for repacking and preparing to fly home.
However, We were glad that we didn't just stay for one night, and would have enjoyed staying longer than the three nights we did stay, as the house was in a lovely suburb, in the shadow of a beautiful hill with cows on it, at the same time it was only three blocks from a number of good restaurants and very easy to get into the city for museums, a wide variety of restaurants and great walks, island trips and adventures. In addition, we enjoyed our time with Trevor and Deb, and hope to see them again in the USA sometime.
Trevor and Deborah were such friendly and welcoming hosts. The room is close to the airport, which made it very convenient to get there early the next morning. The advertised room will be ready soon, as they are doing some remodeling.
