The Space

The space was remodeled with great care and attention to detail. Italian tile throughout. Stained cement floors in the main living space.

The bathroom is devine, romantic, and very relaxing. I installed a vintage claw foot tub into the space and added french doors that open onto the main living space.

I also used recycled barn wood on a lot of finishing touches such as moldings, bookshelves, and wall paneling.

A lot of design care went into the space.

Guest Access

Amazing garden:
Outdoor Fireplace. Outdoor Hammock. Outdoor trellis eating area.

Interaction with Guests

My mother lives in the main house and brings fresh baked goodies to those who wan't them.

The Neighborhood

Walking distance to quaint downtown Cloverdale. 10 minutes from some exceptional wineries. 5 min drive to a private town beach on Lake Sonoma. Great hiking and walking in the area. 1 hour from Harbin Hot Springs. 20 min to Healdsburg. 10 min to the Dry Creek Valley.

You will want a car to get around Wine Country.

  • This was an incredibly lovely place. Kate our host was fantastic, warm and generous with her space. The outdoor space is awesome! It comes fully equipped with a grill, hammocks, plentiful comfortable outdoor seating, and fire pits. The studio is equipped with a fully working kitchen (fridge, dishes, stove top, oven, etc). In addition there is an onsite beautiful dog named Bella that is super friendly. The space is clean, well designed with a unique layout and deliberate decorative touches. A great location close to Healdsburg, Sonoma, Russian River and all the amenities of wine country! Additionally it is in the heart of charming Cloverdale which offers guests the opportunity to walk to local attractions.

This place reigned such beauty and warmth we got engaged here! In our excitement we left behind some items that Kate was kind enough to mail back to us in under a week. We will certainly be returning to this very special place.

  • Elliot's mother Kate was a wonderful host. The property is gorgeous and meticulously designed with a lovely claw foot tub, unique woodwork and a serene garden area. This is a great location to stay for cycling or vineyard touring in wine country, we'll definitely be back!

  • Made a reservation to stay at Elliott's cottage in Cloverdale with about a day's worth of notice. It's a great little building, set back from the road and accessed through a garden area, in the shade of an epic redwood tree. (complete with hammock!) Very clean, quiet, recently renovated and just like in the pictures. Elliott's mother was attentive and welcoming. It's a good spot to base a few days around Healdsburg or the Dry Creek wineries. Cloverdale is extremely sleepy, but there is a nice coffee shop where we had some excellent chocolate cake!

  • Great place...and AMAZING outdoor area. I only wish we could've stayed longer to take more advantage of the great garden/fire pit/bbq/hammocks/etc.!

  • Spent 4 days in CA wine country, this was our favorite region. Dry Creek Valley is by far the best. We wish we stayed at this studio longer! It was such a nice experience Elliott's mother Kate is great. She found out what restaurant we were dining at and covered our first round of drinks. The Suite itself is beautiful and very functional, garden is very nice with fire-pit. Safety is of no concern and Cloverdale is very charming, full of very nice people. Will definitely be back.

  • My girlfriend and I were visiting the Healdsburg area for wine tasting during Labor Day Weekend and we couldn't be more satisfied with our accommodations at Elliott's. The listing is as described - a cute cottage-style studio located in the back of a large piece of property (behind the main house). In between the main house and the cottage-style studio is a wonderful garden area that serves as a place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. We had the pleasure of meeting Elliott and his family, and what a wonderful group of individuals! With regard to location - it's an easy 10 minute drive to a host of wonderful wineries and about 15 minutes from downtown Healdsburg. If you're looking to stay at a place in wine country, I'd highly recommend this place! We look forward to our next stay!

  • Peaceful space that made for a great escape from the city. So many small touches that made the experience so sweet - fresh cut flowers in vases, cold water in pitchers in the fridge, etc. We spent almost the whole time outside in the garden, grilling and enjoying the fire pit and pergola. We didn't spend any time in the town - but there were wonderful wineries all within 30 minutes.

  • This place was great. Close to town, easy to get to and the host was wonderful. The cottage has its own private entrance and was very well kept. We especially enjoyed the giant bathtub, hammock and fire pit!!
