About This Listing
Open-format Executive Studio apartment in lovely garden setting. Clawfoot tub, Chef's kitchen, beautiful finishes throught. Located in quaint Cloverdale in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country just 5 miles from some of the best wineries. Monthly rental.
The space was remodeled with great care and attention to detail. Italian tile throughout. Stained cement floors in the main living space.
The bathroom is divine, romantic, and very relaxing. I installed a vintage claw foot tub into the space and added french doors that open onto the main living space.
I also used recycled barn wood on a lot of finishing touches such as moldings, bookshelves, and wall paneling.
A lot of design care went into the space.
Outdoor Fireplace. Outdoor Hammock. Outdoor trellis eating and seating area.
Interaction with Guests
My mother lives in the main house and depending on the time of year and the severity of the drought we share the bounty of our organic garden.
Walking distance to quaint downtown Cloverdale. 10 minutes from some exceptional wineries. 5 min drive to a private town beach on Lake Sonoma. Great hiking and walking in the area. 1 hour from Harbin Hot Springs. 20 min to Healdsburg. 10 min to the Dry Creek Valley.
You will want a car to get around Wine Country.
Outdoor noise has to be brought down by 11PM.
This is our second time staying here in 2 weeks, so if anything, see how we voted with our feet! Super easy stay, great proximity to downtown Cloverdale and broader wine country, wifi / stove / full refrigerator / microwave...it's really like having a mini second home for our weekends. Thanks again for hosting us!
This place lived up to its description! A darling detached studio set in a lush garden, it was a cool relief from the summer heat, and we loved the decorations. Our only wish is that we could've stayed longer than one night.
Cloverdale is a small town but with an amazing coffee shop called Plank only 2 blocks away, and a brewery about 4 blocks away. A short drive to surrounding wineries in Sonoma County.
Kate was an amazing host, flexible with check in and out times, she gave a quick tour and gave great recommendations for dinner (BBQ just up the road).
We loved this place and highly recommend it!!
Accurate description, cute space. Clean and convenient to Cloverdale, Geyserville and Healdsburg. Host was full of local knowledge and recommendations, respectful of our personal space, and even allowed us to stay past check-out time given no other guests were expected the following day. Good communication throughout. Recommended!
Kate was very flexible with our arrival time, even suggesting we visit the winery where her daughter works while we were texting with her about our expected time of arrival.
The lodging was cute and cozy, with a delightfully maintained garden property, thanks to the on-site grandmother. We enjoyed a private fire pit under fruit trees on the back of the property. Despite the cottage being essentially a building in someone's backyard in a residential neighborhood, we didn't feel we were infringing or being infringed upon as far as privacy is concerned, except perhaps for our late after dinner return. Entrance to the cottage is up the front path to the house and then through their side yard gate.
The bed is twin-sized memory foam, and there is a lovely clawfoot tub with rain-shower-head in the bath.
There's also a very sweet older German Pointer and casual black cat living on the property, who were very polite and well trained in knowing they're not allowed in the cottage. The handsome pup greeted us at the back entrance in the morning, bathing in the sun at the doorstep.
Caution: that hammock is hard to get into and dumped me on the ground a few times. :)
Cloverdale is a great place to stay at the northern end of Sonoma wine country to get to the lesser known wineries in Geyserville and Alexander Valley.
Thank you for the feedback. I just want to clarify a point that the back yard is not for the guests. It is for the dog and the cat and for me and my organic garden. We fenced in that area so the the animals would have a place as they are not allowed in front area or the cottage. We have medical staff stay for extended periods with us from 3 months to 9 months and I use the back area for my entertaining. The fire pit in the front and in the main garden is for the guests of the cottage. I rarely use that area even when I do not have guests in the cottage. After the guests check in we have never heard when they have returned from dinner as the cottage has a separate entrance. Since with AIRBNB owners host the visitors in their homes which is most always in residential neighborhoods and I have never had any complaints. I have also used AIRBNB and stayed in homes of my hosts.
Yearly we have to prune and service the redwood tree. I will check to make sure that the hammock was put back correctly as we have never had a problem with it with anyone before.
The cottage (back house at the address) was great! Exactly as described. It was very easy meeting Kate and getting set up in the room when we arrived. She is friendly and a nice host.
The bed was very comfortable (memory foam), and so was the couch. The shower flow was nice. The floor was clean.
The location is nice- very quiet with good food options nearby.
Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Beautiful apartment tastefully done. Our host was great! Very accommodating and great conversations. We felt very comfortable.
This is a very comfortable, beautiful, and safe place to stay. It's beautiful and cozy, and the yard and garden is great too. Kate is a very nice person, she gives you all the privacy you need/want, but she is great to talk with and you'll feel like you've known her for years. I was here for a 7-week school related stay, and everything I needed and more was in the house or available.
