This was my first time in Florence and it was wonderful. Luca arranged for someone to meet me at the flat as soon as I arrived. He was thorough in explaining how everything worked - wifi, air conditioning, keys, etc. The flat was exactly as advertised. It's within walking distance from the train station and close to most of the must see locations in Florence. The flat was extremely spacious. I would definitely recommend staying there.
Arriving here from the airport only took 10 minutes by car. I called Luca as soon as I got into a taxi and his friend Nickoli was there to greet me upon arrival. He explained everything in the house and was very welcoming. The neighborhood around it was beautiful and so was the actual apartment. The Internet worked great, too.
Downstairs there are many places to eat. There is a panini place to the left of the plaza that I would recommend. Another great restaurant, Boca Negra, is just 2 blocks from the apartment.
Next time I go to Florence I would definitely stay in the same apartment because of its close proximity to everything. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking to explore Florence and wanting to be close to all the main attractions.
Our stay at this apartment was perfect. Everything was as advertised and the location could not be better. Check in was simple and easy. We got an excellent restaurant recommendation from the nice gentleman who met us at the apartment to get set up. No complaints, I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The apartment really is as nice as the pictures show it. Fully refurnished/updated, everything worked and looked great. Even more important, it's hard to imagine being in a better location: all the major attractions were within 10 minutes walk so we often came back at lunch time to eat lunch and wash up. Even the galleteria across the street was great (best of the many places I tried).
Luca was warm and welcoming; his father who answered the phone when I called was gracious and brought some missing bedding for the sofa bed even though it was dinner time.
The apartment overlooks a lively piazza. There are three restaurants on the piazza. (I highly recommend Ristorante Pizzeria for pizza-like dishes -- the best I had in Italy). The downside to being on the piazza is that on warm nights, there is a fair amount of noise until past 1am from the crowds sitting outside. I typically bring earplugs on my travels and the noise wasn't a problem for me because I used them, but light sleepers, beware.
The other thing to know is that the apartment is up three flights of stairs. Those who have trouble with climbing up several flights of stairs should probably look elsewhere. For me, that wasn't a problem.
Luca's place is a perfect home away from home. It is very well kept and nicely decorated. It also gets a top score for its location - it's on the edge of the central tourist area so everything is within walking distance but you also get to see a less touristy side of the life in Florence. All in all a wonderful experience!
The apartment is lovely and in a great location. It is spacious and it overlooks a lively piazza. The warm decor makes it feel like a real home. The wifi works great. Very clean. Comfy bed. Also, they were flexible and accomodating with checking in and out. Definitely recommend.
We were greeted by Luca's extremely helpful colleague Nico. He gave us tips on how best to enjoy Florence including a delicious all natural gelateria. He also took the time to share suggestions for our day trip to Tuscany. Nico's advice definitely enhanced our visit so a special thank you to him!
We had an amazing time staying at this apartment. It was exactly as advertised on the airbnb site. The rooms were clean, spacious, and we had everything we needed for the four nights we stayed. Luca's friend Nico let us in to the apartment and he was helpful and friendly in giving us advice on where to go and what to do. This apartment is located in an fantastic area, and we would definitely stay here again!
