Our bedroom to let is cosy, inviting and homely. Two people could happily stay here and it's situated in the fantastic West End. Our street is quiet and you'll sleep like a baby in our new double bed. Come and enjoy our home!
Our apartment is a distinctive sandstone tenement (c1895) and comes with stunning period high-ceilings.
Parking shouldn't be a problem- there's plenty of spaces right outside. Our home is a top-floor flat and is therefore unsuitable for those with reduced mobility.
Guests will have access to a private double room and a shared living room, modern kitchen and bathroom. Washer is available. The only room in the house off-limits is our bedroom.
Modern gas cooker
Hot water bottle
We will be available to answer any questions and offer advice on the local area and amenities. We love to meet new people but at the same time we fully understand that guests will want their privacy most of the time. We will not provide breakfast as we both work and will probably be out the door before you even wake up. We will be present during your stay most of the time unless we are away.
Our favourite thing about the neighbourhood is the huge variety of cafés, restaurants, bars and pleasant walks. Our favourite walk is just two minutes away on the River Kelvin which runs right through Glasgow's West End. You'll also love the Botanic Gardens which has the cutest tea room ever! There's loads of vintage boutiques and homeware stores dotted around the neighbourhood as well as delicious cheese shops and fish mongers. We love to walk in Mugdock Country Park which is a 10 minute drive away. It is stunning and ideal for runners and walking enthusiasts. For any classical music fans, the famous Grammy-winning violist William Primrose was born on our street in 1904 :)
Public transport is super easy here. We use the Underground to get into the city centre- it's a 7 minute journey. And it's only £1.40 for anywhere on the line. If you're doing multiple trips that day, it's best to get a Discovery Ticket for around £3.50. There are also plenty of bus routes (6 or 6a on Great Western Road) which will take you into the city centre as well as out into the countryside. A bus ride will cost £1.90. Taxis are EXTREMELY cheap in Glasgow too. It'll cost no more than £5.00 to get into the city centre.
We are a very friendly couple and we can't wait to share our cosy home with you.
Iain and Naimh were very easy to deal with and very accommodating. Their flat is very clean and tidy.
It was really perfect stay and we enjoyed it really much. Very nice place and Iain and Niamh are very welcoming and helpful people. We felt as we are staying with very good friends. Once we are back in Glasgow we will be glad to stay again.
If anyone needs somewhere to stay in Glasgow that feels like home, then this is your place. Iain and Niamh were both great hosts and lovely people. Everything was straight forward from the moment I arrived, I stayed for a week and the whole time felt very welcomed, free to come and go as I pleased, whilst also being very sociable with me when I wanted.
Many thanks to Iain and Niamh for a wonderful stay
Niamh was a delightful host who helped us to feel very much at home. (Iain was away).
The apartment was clean and bright. It is three floors up, so you need to be fit for the stairs. Niamh was only too happy to assist with getting the luggage up and down.
Both Iain and Naimh work full time, so be prepared to organise your own breakfast.
We highly recommend this as a place to stay in Glasgow.
My husband and I traveled to Scotland to visit Glasgow and Edinburgh the week before Christmas and had a lovely stay at Iain and Niamh's lovely flat in Glasgow.
Their flat is very cozy and inviting and Iain and Niamh are wonderful hosts - very friendly and helpful!
That flat is about a 6-8 minute walk to the subway and it was very easy to find and the main strip near their flat has lots of shops and places to eat.
Subway ride into downtown probably took 10-15 minutes - not very long at all! They live on the top floor of their building and there isn't a lift (elevator) so that would be an issue for those w/ mobility issues but for us it was great!
We had a great visit to Scotland and would definitely consider booking w/ Iain and Niamh again.
Iain and Niamh were warm and lovely hosts and their flat in the West End comfortable and cosy. I felt welcomed - and despite the fact that the flat was small, I didn't feel as though I was in the way at any time.
Their flat is very handy to Glasgow University and the Olan Mor theatre as well as the City Centre. I was in a car, and found car parking easy to find near their flat despite the fact that the area was obviously very busy.
The only drawback for me - as a woman on my own - was lugging a heavy suitcase up 3 flights of steps. But that was a small price to pay for a great stay in Glasgow. Thank you Niamh and Iain!
Iain and Niamh are both lovely, relaxed, super friendly hosts and made us feel totally welcome in their flat. The bed was very comfortable and the flat is an easy walk in to town or the West End. Would definitely recommend staying here.
I had a pleasant experience with Niamh & Iain! Their hospitality and readiness to help anytime made my stay very comfortable. They helped me to find my way around the neighborhood, to order taxis and even to carry my heavy luggage.
Their flat is tidy and light, and the Christmas tree greatly impressed me creating an atmosphere of the forthcoming festive season!
And I really like this opportunity to thank them for everything!
Iain and Niamh keep a beautiful and quiet apartment on the third floor, close to the university. Transport is conveniently located, as are the shops and entertainment points in the West End. I did not spend much time in the apartment, but Iain and Niamh were extremely easy to communicate with. Checking in was easy and all creature comforts were exactly as advertised. All photos were accurate and the room was very comfortable indeed. Highly recommended!
Thanks guys! We had a great stay! Great location and very cosy which was important with the Glasgow chill! Great advice on walks in Glen Coe too. Cheer!
