About This Listing
Cool and comfortable room in a small apartment, situated in the middle of Paris, on the "17th century-looking" Ile Saint-Louis. It comfortably fits two and is centrally located on a quiet street, just a few minutes away from Notre Dame cathedral.
You will sleep in a small bedroom on a nice mezzanine bed with 6 small steps to access the bed. The bed comfortably fits 2 persons. There is a TV and a DVD player in the room with a collection of awesome movies. The big window let the daylight in the room, but if you wish to sleep longer in the morning, there is always curtains. I provide fresh sheets and towels.
The flat is situated on the 3rd floor of the building without elevator.
I hope you will have a wonderful time in Paris and that your stay with me will be amazing!
As my guest, you will have an unlimited access to my very-fast WiFi internet connection. Direct access to the bathroom from the guest room. You can use the kitchen and the appliances as you need. However, I don't have a washing machine in the flat. But there is a laundromat 5 minutes away. Also, my guests can borrow my extra SIM card with a french number if they wish to be able to use their phone while in Paris.
Interaction with Guests
During your stay, I'll sleep in the living room. I usually work during the days so I'm not often at the apartment.
Lots of tourists swarm the island in Paris, home of Notre Dame Cathedral. But far too many overlook its adorable little sister, the quaint Ile Saint Louis just a few steps away.
This small island is like an oasis from the rush of the city. It's almost as if someone dropped a small French village into the center of Paris, as it features markets, bakeries, fromageries and cafés. While much of Paris has modernized over the years, the ile remains romantically frozen in the 17th century. It is remarkably the same as it was centuries ago.
Other Things to Note
If you are not comfortable with sleeping in a mezzanine bed, you might prefer looking for another place to rent.
I like my guests to use their common sense. For example, you can wash dishes after using it, if you take food, it's nice to buy it back before you leave. I ask everyone to take off their shoes inside. Especially when it's raining ;). In the shower, to save hot water, let's not take more than 5 minutes.
Nicolas was a terrific host and his flat was fantastic. The flat is incredibly well located, right in the centre of Paris and only 5 minutes walk to Notre Dame (probably less!). The area around the flat is beautiful and felt very safe, even late at night.
The room itself is great. The loft bed is very comfy and I found it easy to get a good night's sleep. There is a desk in the room should you need to work and a TV to watch movies on. The flat also has fast wifi.
Highly recommended! Will be returning!
Nicolas was a great host. Very helpful and kind. Very accommodating but also respectful and not at all intrusive. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The shared bathroom worked well and was extremely clean. Having a desk with the ability to work at my laptop (and a solid internet connection) was also very helpful for me. Location was absolutely ideal as it was central and easy to walk almost everywhere. Surrounded by tourist attractions, cafes and restaurants of all kinds. Nicolas was also extremely helpful with detailed instructions on finding the apartment so that even after a red eye flight with little sleep I had no trouble finding the place after taking the train from the airport (which was only 10€ BTW). Especially for the price I absolutely could not have had a better experience in Paris.
I had a great time staying at Nicolas's apartment, lovely location and great space. Everything was really easy and Nicolas went out of his way to make my arrival easy and my stay very comfortable! The building is very close to the supermarket, metro stations and laundromat. I had a great time in Paris and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nicolas's apartment. Thanks so much!
I can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Nicolas'. I've just come back from a three-week stay and had a wonderful time. Nicolas is very reliable, helpful and a wonderful host. I felt very comfortable and right at home. The room is very cozy and the loft bed is very comfortable. You have private access to your room, the bathroom and the kitchen. The location is perfect, Notre Dame, Quartier Latin, Marais, Place des Voges, Bastille, everthing is in walking distance (and I'm talking like 10-15 minutes). I would definitely come back. Thank you Nicolas.
Nicolas was a wonderful host. He made it so easy for me in many ways: great directions, meeting me at the outset, and generously sharing tickets for the batobus! The apartment is in a good location for museums and general wandering.
I absolutely recommend you to stay on Nicolas' apartment. If you read previous reviews, you already know that Nicolas is an amazing host with lots of experience on receiving AirBnb guests.
The room and the bathroom are really good and very spacious. I bumped my head a lot of times with the new bed but nothing like a day or two to get used to it. :) WiFi works perfectly and he even has an extra SIM card if you need. The apartment is on the 3rd floor so if you travel heavy, be aware that you will go up the stairs.
In terms of location, Ile Saint-Louis is very close to the main metro lines (1 and 7) you need to go around all Paris. It's super central indeed. If it's your first time in Paris, make sure to search if all metro lines you need to get to the apartment are active to avoid surprises.
You really can't go wrong with this choice. Book it and enjoy Paris.
I'm just back from a months trip to Paris and though, it was clubbed with a conference I attended, it was Basically supposed to be a Fantasy journey into my own Psyche and a serious attempt to guage my own capabilities as an individual apart from my usual environment,in short a fiftieth year gift to (website hidden) was all this and more not in small part due to dear dear Nicholas and his jewel of a room on Ile st. Louis.Nicholas is well nigh a perfect host. His place is as central and well connected as you can get. Together an unbeaten combination of great location, great safety, and great comfort .And remember I was there for a month well past any honeymoon period of tiptoeing (website hidden) the end we were pretty much comfortable enough to be our true selves and got along pretty well inspite of being vastly different in temparament, age cultures, mindset(as different as you can get infact). So,as an earlier reviewer said ,if you get an opportunity to stay here and miss out on it I pity (website hidden) a protective Tigress of a mother I'd go so far as to say I'd feel safe to send my daughter there, if she was going to Paris and believe you me,a greater compliment than that I do not have.
P.S. Nico's got a great sense of humour as well.

About the Host, Nicolas
I work on the Seine river as a pilot. I drive tourists on a 25 meters ship. I was born in Canada from french parents. I now live in Paris since 2009. From February to November 2015, I will be studying in a film school in Paris. I'm taking a break from my job as a Captain. I'm obviously a huge movie buff. My favorite genre is Sci-Fi.
I started doing Airbnb 3 years ago, and I'm loving it. Meeting people from around the world every week makes you feel like you are constantly travelling yourself.
