The space
Thoughtfully designed for nature-loving couples longing to experience the magic of being on top of the world in the Blue Ridge Mountains, your upscale and private getaway is unique and special. Memories will be made here, with special moments of relaxation, adventure, and connecting to each other and the great outdoors.

EXPERIENCE THE CABIN

As you drive up the driveway and first set eyes on The Cabin at Spring Creek Retreats, you know this will be a different experience – the feeling is perfectly normal - and the decisions of what to do first are difficult. Do you open the door and step inside your luxe private retreat….or pass through the garden gate to welcome your first glimpse of the breathtaking mountain views…

Once you enter The Cabin, you immediately realize that this is not your typical log cabin (circa 1800's!). Unlike the traditional log cabin feel, the interior decor boasts a professional touch that celebrates the outdoors—light streams through ample windows, highlighting the thoughtfully designed natural materials and colors throughout every room.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the space exudes a cozy elegance. From the handcrafted fireplace screen adorned with delicate dragonflies to the wrought iron handrail designed to resemble a tree branch, every element is a reminder of the 80-acres of nature waiting just outside the doors.

The living room is richly appointed with modern and comfortable high-end furnishings in calming shades of blue reminiscent of a clear sky. Curl up by the romantic rock fireplace hearth, perfect for cool-weather evenings. Forget the worry of finding firewood—complimentary supplies are provided to ensure a hassle-free stay. For your entertainment, a Samsung Frame TV and Sonos surround system await.

KITCHEN AND DINING

The kitchen is appointed with La Creuset and Green Pan cookware and all the kitchen tools and appliances that would make even the pickiest of chefs happy - we would know as we hosted two professional chefs to do a test run of the kitchen! The quaint dining area adjacent to the kitchen and living space is perfectly sized for a romantic dinner or quick breakfast before a day of adventuring.

Grab your first mug of morning coffee from a French Press (or a more convenient electric coffee pot) as you walk out the back door to the covered porch. Catch the morning sunrise as the clouds gently roll through the valley below…or perhaps roll right through you as you sit on the porch—it's magnificent and the perfect way to start your day!

BEDROOM AND BATHROOM

Upstairs, you’ll find a bedroom that exudes pure romanticism. Earthy green hues echo the surrounding forest creating a soft, tranquil atmosphere. As your eyes glance upward you catch a touch of unexpected glamour - a cascading crystal chandelier reminiscent of a willow tree is suspended over the bed. Plump pillows, cozy bedding, and a wing-backed headboard are waiting to envelop you, while soft sheets and a Kingdown Mattress lure you to rest. A comfortable sitting chair and reading lamp are nearby.

The bathroom beckons with an invitation to unwind. Delicate wildflowers dance across the walls echoing the mountain vista framed by the window. Imagine a leisurely soak in the tub, surrounded by nature's beauty both inside and out. On warmer days, open the window to enjoy a gentle breeze and breathe in the fresh mountain air. In colder months the heat emanating from the bathroom floors are a soothing surprise. High-quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and cozy, soft towels are plentiful, for a near spa-like experience.

For digital nomads, you'll find a comfortable workplace with a proper desk and conveniently located electrical outlets. Of course, you’ll find another spectacular view from the window - giving you an ultimate top-of-the-world experience from your working perch high above the trees.

A built-in wardrobe provides ample hanging space and drawers for two. Behind another set of doors is a Samsung washer and dryer. Complimentary detergent pods are supplied.

OUTDOOR LIVING:

As remarkable as The Cabin at Spring Creek Retreats is, there is no doubt that you will be spending much of your time in several outdoor living spaces thoughtfully planned to elevate your experience.

Who doesn't want to sit on a hand-made rocking chair on the front porch of a log cabin with a sweet tea in hand? Or, how about curling up on the swing bed with a good book as you listen to the sound of water from the rushing stream below – feel that cool breeze whispering through the valley – you may want to grab a blanket from inside and a warm cup of tea.

On the back porch…. Oh… those panoramic views are stunning. The landscape is like a painting, without any homes or structures blocking your view. Here, you’ll find the most comfortable wicker chairs. As dusk grows near, light the grill for a romantic dinner on the porch, then head to the nearby firepit to roast marshmallows for dessert.

After dinner, it’s time to crank up the hot tub jets, bring the Sonos speaker outdoors to listen to your favorite music and turn the overhead bistro lights on as the firepit lingers in the background.

It’s almost time to turn in, but as you turn the lights off, you can’t help but gaze up at the sky and realize you can see the Milky Way. You may spend hours in total darkness stargazing before finally retreating indoors for the evening.

EXPERIENCE NATURE:

Nestled on 80 acres within a private Rich Cove Forest you will find a secluded getaway to escape from the ordinary for an immersive nature experience.

Immerse yourself in a private adventure unlike any other. The property unfolds as a natural wonderland, boasting montane forested slopes, finger ridges, abundant rock outcrops, multiple boulder fields, and cascading streams ascending from the shady cove.

Wind your way through the forest along a completely private, professionally designed network of more than five miles of trails. As you climb to sit on a large moss-covered boulder mother nature's awe-inspiring masterpiece unfolds before you - a flash of movement catches your eye - as a majestic red-tail hawk flies through the tree canopy.

As you reflect on what you just experienced you continue your walk to a Tree Net suspended over a bold stream. Plan time for an afternoon nap, as the rushing water provides a natural lullaby. Renewed and invigorated by your pristine escape, you return to The Cabin, in awe at the day you've spent in your private forest sanctuary.

From the minute you step foot on the property, to your last look as you drive away, The Cabin At Spring Creek Retreat is the quintessential mountain escape – bringing your mountain dreams to life.

Other things to note
ACCESS & DRIVE:

Once you exit the State Road you will traverse 2 miles to The Cabin along a State maintained gravel road. An All-Wheel-Drive vehicle, or 4x4, is not necessary for our property. However, for us Florida folks out there – or those of us whose wheels have never left the pavement, you would feel more comfortable having an AWD/4x4 vehicle.

As you enter Spring Creek Preserve there is a small road section of 150 feet with an 8% slope grade. We have had all types of vehicles in Spring Creek Preserve to include the big UPS box truck, Toyota Camrys, to Tesla’s. There is no need for a truck or high clearance vehicles.

We have shared all the above out of an abundance of caution as we understand that many flatlanders (like us) who have not experienced mountain driving may approach gravel roads or slight road pitches with trepidation – we got you…you can do this!

To note: A Level 2 charging station for EV & Hybrid vehicles is in the driveway.

YOU ARE IN NATURE:

You are going to be enveloped in the bountiful Blue Ridge Mountain range with all its glory. You may see various wildlife to include birds, Elk (we have seen one on the property!), Deer, Coyotes, Fox, Salamanders, etc. You may even encounter a Bear (they mean you no harm!) – don’t worry we have you covered on what to do if you come across a Bear which will be outlined in our digital guest guide delivered prior to your arrival.

All the above is simply to share – you will be in lodging in a high-end Cabin and will be surrounded by an environment where nature is flourishing. You are to experience an environment where the forest, the streams, and the wildlife is “still winning & thriving”!

HIKING PRECAUTIONS:

The miles of hiking trails on the property were professionally built over several months by Single Tracks Trail Builders out of Colorado. They crafted the Trails to be safely experienced. There are a couple of areas on the trail network where there is steep terrain below the trails. Awareness of your surroundings will be important.

An awesome keepsake Trail Map will be provided to guests.
