Neat place and unique experience! The atmosphere is very peaceful and lovely. Barb has a great energy, and her suggestion for dining at the nearby American Saloon was spot on. Delicious! Definitely stoked to tell folks about our stay in the lighthouse. Thank you!
Barb and Ron are a warm, generous couple. We loved the atmosphere of the property! The lighthouse is much smaller than I realized, and the cots are nailed in place to prevent them from damaging the screen, so we couldn't sleep together...but seeing the thousands of stars as we lay there and talked was delightful. We fell to sleep to a chorus of wildlife. We also used the paddle boat, and Ron was kind enough to work the loch so we could rise up to the next level of the stream. Marvelous experience! Thank you, Barb & Ron!
Barb and Ron made US feel very welcome and were absolutely great hosts. We just loved their little pond and especially the lighthouse tower. The whole experience is just truly unique and we would gladly come again if we had the chance!
I am THRILLED to report that this was the LOVELY property to stay at and we had a BLAST at the lighthouse!!!! I and my 2 friends rented this out last Saturday and had a super super blast. Barb was super easy to communicate with and we checked in earlier as she asked! The scenery getting there was soooo amazing and the property pictures really don't do it justice!!!! The lighthouse was as adverstised. The "outhouse" as we called it was just fine. We took toilet paper just in case and all the essential camping gear. Since we were only there one night, you don't need that much!!! Breakfast was delivered to us with hot coffee, peaches and a GREAT breakfast sandwich!!! It was soooo peaceful there I can't even describe how unique, creative and peaceful this place is! Barb, thanks for everything!!! You have new fans!!! 3
p.s. the pizza place was great for a light dinner snack (or more) and we just had a great time of talking & taking lots of pictures.
We arrived later in the day than we had hoped, and left pretty early in the morning, so we didn't see much of Barb. She was welcoming and sweet, and the lighthouse was a cool novelty, but it wasnt quite what we expected. From the past reviews, I thought it would be on a sweet lake in the country, but it was a pretty murky man made lake in their yard in a neighborhood. We did indeed hear amazing frogs at night, and wake up to a nice view. Also my boyfriend and I ended up crammed together on a small space on the floor so that we could sleep next to each other. The two cots at the top were at opposite sides of the screened in area and were bolted to the floor. All in all, a cool experience, but dont expect to really be out in nature.
Sarah, I read your review, As far as the the LAKE goes its 2 acres and that is a lake. The lake is not murky, that is what a lake is to look. People swim in the lake almost every day. And why the cots are bolted down is because people would move them around and put holes in the screen. Our closest neighbor is 1/4 of a mile.
