This is a 4 story lighthouse. Cots will be provided, bring your sleeping bag and pillows. You'll fall into dreamland by the singing frogs. A screen in gazebo is the top floor. If you like to fish, swim, and canoe, you will enjoy yourself. You will see deer, ducks,Canadian geese, wild turkey, peacock, fancy pheasant and frogs. We are located approximately 10 miles south of York Pa,and 1 hour ride to Baltimore, Gettysburg, Lancaster and Harrisburg. Breakfast is included in the price. This is a quiet and relaxing place. But you will have a great time. There is a port-a-potty next to the light house that may be used. Have your birthday, retirement, wedding, party here. (Just a note there is no heat in the light house)
Our stay at Barb & Ron lighthouse was a really good moment. I enjoyed both the place and the hosts. The lighthouse, the pond with boat and the little island are really beautiful and an impressive project. Our hosts were very carring, welcoming and good advisors for our trip. Note also that Barb is a good cook I fully recommand this adress!
The lighthouse is a wonderful experience! Very unique and quiet, with the singing frogs. Barb and Ron are very nice people, they let me took a shower in the house. Looking forward to see Ron's new project. Just a friendly reminder to others, it is better to get here before dark, otherwise you might scare other people or vise versa.
I loved this place, it could be both a playground for the imagination and a peaceful retreat, I would loved to have been there in warmer weather but it was the only place on my tour where I actually slept for close to 12 hrs, the miracle of country air. I genuinely would discredit Barb and Ron by trying to describe them with anything other than perfect. They wont know this but they gave me faith in humanity and I hope the future is kind and rewarding to them.
To stay in the lighthouse is a real adventure!
But you should not go there alone (boredom) and you should only try on sunny nice weather days to be there by possibility.
Unfortunately I have had a cool rainy day, but I'm sure on a beautiful day it is Fantastic
This place is an adventure! You would have never guessed that this place existed where it is located. VERY COOL place---we canoed, swam, jumped, fished, etc. We stayed at the cabin the first night then the lighthouse the next night. The cabin is romantic. The lighthouse is unique and a once-a-lifetime kind of experience. The whole site is picturesque. Barb and Ron are WARM hosts. You have to ask Ron about how he built this place- fascinating. We definitely want to come back.
My daughter and I had an amazing stay at the lighthouse. Barb was great, and the property was full of adventure. We plan on booking again same time next year! I highly recommend staying if A. You don't mind using a port-a-potty (although you can use the bathroom in their house from morning till 10 pm) and B, You are fit enough to navigate the stairs.
An amazing experience, loved seeing some of the wildlife although the snake was a bit of a shock for us - not something we normally see in England! Super friendly hosts, really showed us how proper Americans live. Loved pedalling the boat around the lake too. Most importantly they know the best local pizza place.
Barb and Ron are the perfect hosts and their property is picturesque. The craftsmanship and care Ron put into the design of Frog Lake is just unreal. The lighthouse is such a unique space and much more interesting than a hotel room, for sure! We had a wonderful time and got to spend a night in the Cozy Cabin, too when the weather didn't cooperate. Thanks again for a lovely time!
Best vacation ever. Barb and Ron were amazing hosts and we hope they enjoyed our company as much as we did theirs! The property is gorgeous and truly unique. We had a great time floating around in the lake and fearing for our lives (in a good way) on the diving tower, and sleeping in the gazebo was very cozy; loved the nighttime sounds, frogs/crickets etc. A peaceful retreat that can turn into a party, if you're up for it! Thanks B&R, see you soon!
i needed a one-night reservation for a roadtrip over Memorial Day weekend, and campgrounds were hard to find so I opted for this quirky and cool experience! Barb's husband built this lighthouse and lake-side park in their rural yard at the back of a ravine. I slept in the screened-in deck on the top of the lighthouse, under a full moon and listening to frogs! the lighthouse has power, but not running water. there's a clean outhouse, and they also offered me the use of the shower at the main house. i left early to go hiking, so didn't take advantage of a full breakfast, but Barb kindly sent me off with an apple and bagel to-go.
