Beautiful apartment located in the middle of El Born, the most exciting and fashionable neighborhood in Barcelona.
The Born is the best place to stay in your holidays in Barcelona, with lots of beautiful pedestrian streets and a large variety of restaurants, tapas bars, pubs, art galleries and amazing shops.
The apartment is in front of Santa Mª del Mar cathedral and just three minutes away from the subway station Jaume I (yellow line).
The beach, the Ramblas, the Ciutadella Park and the Plaça Catalunya are also very near (a short walk).
The apartment is perfect for a couple and has all the amenities you need:
- Fully equiped kitchen (american style).
- Wifi Internet.
- Washing machine.
- Hair dryer.
- Sheets and towels.
- Shampoo and shower gel.
- Different kinds of tea are also included.
The flat is on a real second floor and has two balconies that let you see the animated street life.
And finaly tell you that you will have a bottle of cava as a welcome gift.
Hope you enjoy your stay!
P.S. If the apartment is not available on the dates you want, I have this other beautiful flat very close to Las Ramblas:
Absolutely perfect location and Esteve (email hidden). He had to travel but made sure a friend Anna was there to meet us, even when our flight was a bit delayed. she gave us phone numbers and encouraged us to call for anything. The apt is in the heart of old Barcelona but just a few steps off the heavily trafficked tourist streets. 10 min walk to the beach at Barcelonetta. The area is full of wonderful small shops and great tapas bars. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to return.
We stayed in Esteve's apartment for the second week of our honeymoon, and I can't (email hidden) to stay in Barcelona--within a few blocks there are delicious tapas and drinks and croissants (email hidden) and a grand cathedral and magnificent street art; it's only a few minutes to the heart of the Gothic quarter; and yet the apartment itself is very quiet. As others have mentioned, the spiral staircase to the apartment is narrow and the apartment is cozy, so be ready to lug that luggage and share some space with your traveling companion. I loved standing on the porch looking at the people walk by our tiny street. Also, if it gets hot during your stay, there's a nice big fan to help you cool off or to blow all the lovely curtains around.
We had a bit of a mishap on our last day--we got to the airport early in the morning and couldn't find our passports. I taxied back to the apartment, and couldn't get a hold of Esteve for a few hours (it was very early and he certainly had no idea to expect a call from us), but when I did he was very accommodating about getting me into the apartment to look for our passports. It turned out, however, that our passports were tucked into a random pocket of our luggage and that I didn't need to trek back to the apartment after all. Oh the joys of travel!
We had a great time at Esteve's flat!It was clean and he was a really good host, very flexible about our arrival, since our flight has been postponed. But that was no problem at all. We met two hours later than expected and he was very friendly. The staircase was very narrow indeed, but it didn't bother us. The location of the flat couldn't be better: Very central and with the beautiful Cathedral Santa Maria Del Mar directly next to you. All in all a highly recommendable flat! Thank you Esteve!
Clean, nice, friendly
Great location in beautiful Barcelona
The place is located in great area of Barcelona! The was plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Plus the Metro was nearby. We only stood two nights but this apartment was nice, clean and had a ton of amenities. I would easily stay there again if given the opportunity. Esteve was very helpful also, he helped us order a taxi for our super early check out.
Nice & cosy flat! All in.. a perfect service!
Esteve was a very accommodating and friendly host, and was especially understanding when our flight arrived late in the evening on the date of our check in. The best part about the apartment was its ideal location - we loved the Born area! Very central to everything and really hip. We enjoyed great meals and even cocktails right around the corner, so it made the trip very easy to navigate.
Other positives: Wifi was great and the apartment was cute.
The downside: the bed was not comfortable and unfortunately, the sheet was not clean. We had to sleep on top of the comforter with another blanket to keep us warm (we were there in May, so warmth wasn't a huge issue). Pillows were also much thinner than desired, so we borrowed some from the couch to place under the bed pillows for extra support.
Also, the unit was smaller than expected and the staircase leading to the apartment was narrow and windy. Would have been no problem except when trying to carry two weeks worth of luggage up the stairs.
Overall, I would recommend staying here if you are a light packer and have relatively minimal needs around comfort of the bed. Otherwise, apartment is cute, mostly clean, in a fantastic area, and the host is very nice.
Esteve's apartment was a hidden gem! The apartment was exactly as pictured and the neighbourhood was amazing, quiet yet surrounded by the most amazing restaurants and cafes and within walking distance to all the attractions.
I will definitely recommend this property to any friends visiting Barcelona in the future.
Esteve was a very likable host. He made us feel welcomed, helped us get settled in his apartment and made our departure an easier one by calling us a taxi.
The apartment was small, smaller than we expected, but still doable for two people. The bathroom sink was about as small as a sink can get.
The kitchen was stocked, but not generously so. The bed was comfortable, but with only two small pillows. We made the mistake of traveling with an oversize suitcase and our encounter with the spiral like stairwell was problematic. Getting the suitcase up the stairs was very difficult. It was certainly easier getting it back down on the day of our departure. At other times, I kind of enjoyed it.
For the most part, the place was quiet at night and sleeping was easy. On the last night, at midnight, we were awakened by the sounds of a party on the floor above us. When the weather was sunny and on most days it was, the natural light in the apartment was indeed cheerful.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay there. The location could not have been better; 5 minutes of walking to the Picasso museum, 8 minutes to the Market and to metro, proximity to buses and taxis and square in the middle of El Born and Barri Gotic! Wine stores, groceries, bakeries, cafes, plazas, ice cream, chocolate, restaurants, tapas bars.. all within 3 minutes of walking from this apartment. What wonderful walks we had just outside our door. For this apartment, location is everything! How fantastic is it to live in one of the great neighborhoods of the world.
Esteve was very responsive and easy to coordinate with. His Born apartment was clean and had a bohemian charm with a balcony that overlooked a great neighborhood street. If you're looking for an authentic Barcelona experience this is a great choice and good value.
