The Space

This cozy apartment comfortably accommodates a single traveler or a couple visiting Hong Kong. It has a full bathroom that has an enclosed shower with water heater. It has an open kitchen with electric cooker and microwave oven. One comfortable real bed (Not a futon or pullout sofa) that sleeps up to a couple. A wall mounted TV with DVD player and solid wireless internet access. But the best thing about this apartment is it's location. It is close to all sorts of transportation that take you to everywhere you would want to go to in Hong Kong. Located on the West side of Hong Kong in the Sheung Wan district, it is 5 minutes walking distance from the Sheung Wan MTR Station and 5 minutes from the foreign friendly district Soho (South of Hollywood Rd). It is only a few stops away from the Central MTR station on the Tram or bus and the neighborhood is super safe and friendly. Also, there is a 7 Eleven convenient store and a Laundry Place right around the corner.

**In the past I have borrowed out adapters for FREE to guests as a courtesy and convenience, however, too many have not been returned (over 50) and I can no longer keep up with restocking. Unfortunately, I can't provide these for free but if necessary, will sell them AT COST (@HKD20) instead. Sorry that this gesture failed.

Guests have access to:
- FREE WiFi

Interaction with Guests

As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.

The Neighborhood

The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.

Getting around

The Sheung Wan MTR station is but 8 min walking distance away that takes you all over Hong Kong and Kowloon. There are also buses, trams, minibuses that run near the doorstep of the building on Des Voeux Road West Road and take you to every corner of the island and beyond.

Other Things to Note

Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

  • The location of the flat is convenient and inside was super clean. I had my doubts before entering but to my surprise it was just right. Brendan was very helpful and respectful. I recommend this to anybody!

  • I arrived in HK close to midnight and booked late. Brendan met me at the apartment after 1am which was very kind.

The place is as advertised, priced and reviewed.

Sheung Wan is a pretty good area as it is the best value near Central.

  • This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a central location and still want money left over to have fun (and eat well!) in Hong Kong. The apartment is the perfect size for a couple who will mostly be seeing the sights and soaking up all the city has to offer. Brendan is helpful and available, so you'll never feel like you can't contact someone for last-minute needs. Overall, a great stay at the right price.

  • An extremely clean and snug apartment only a few minutes walk or tram ride away from amazing food options and the sights and sounds of Central HK Island.

Our host was extremely understanding and went to extra lengths in order to facilitate an earlier check in.

The space and bed were extremely comfortable and I had no problem getting to sleep each night.

The location is very near the Sheung Wan MTR station. A quick look on "Foursquare" and "Open Rice" reveals a few affordable Michelin star restaurants within walking distance.

The Peak Tram and Soho districts can be reached by tram, which stops at the end of the block. The Tram can also take you to Central and Hong Kong stations. These two hubs will take you everywhere you need to go in HK.

When we return to HK we will definitely be hoping this place is available.

  • Nice and clean, a room within an apartment, where each room has been turned into its own studio. Decent bathroom with a shower closed off so the water doesn't go everywhere (surprisingly common in HK), clean towels, comfortable bed. The fridge was very handy. It's comfortable for two and we were pleased with it. I'd stay here again and would recommend it.

  • Brendan's place is just nice and comfy for 2. Very clean and cozy. MTR is 10-15 mins away and you'll never mind the walk as there's so many interesting, unique & local shops along the way to-and-fro so much so that you'll literally enjoy the walk. Checking-in is a breeze and his staff is very helpful to all our queries. Oh yes, the airport shuttle bus stop is just 10 mins away. If u want to experience HK as a local, come stay here at Brendan's. Worth your every penny with local flavor included ;-)

  • This was a nice place to stay, and excellent value for Hong Kong. The apartment is in a great location and was really clean. It is tiny (as the pictures show), but has everything you need, including a little kitchen area.

They met us promptly upon arrival and the deposit was returned with no issues. Thoroughly recommended!

  • My stay with Brendan was exactly as I expected knowing what I know of Hong Kong. In a city of very expensive hotels and square footage of any kind, it was great to find comfortable inexpensive accommodation so close to Central. The room had everything I needed including modern bathroom facilities, a double bed, sofa, TV and DVD player (which came in handy and actually played my Europe region DVDs), fridge, microwave and crockery and cutlery. Located on the first floor meant I could avoid the lift if I was in a hurry and I had no real issue with noise. I would happily stay with Brendan so to speak!) again and would recommend his accommodation to anyone looking for affordable, convenient facilities.

  • Whether it's the location or the response or service or cleanliness, there's just one word - super. We would return every time. Highly recommended. Just perfect for a couple or a business traveler.

    August 2013
  • This was a nice place to stay at! Its small but just the right size for two people. Cozy feeling. The fridge and microwave was very useful, also enjoyed the tv with the DVD player. The area was safe. Metro was a few min away very convenient. Brendan was very helpful. We arrived at the place earlier than we expected but Brendan's mom was able to arrange us to get in. I would definitely use this place again!

About
I was born in California and raised in Hong Kong. Went to college in the states and returned to Hong Kong a few years ago. I absolutely love travelling around the region but Hong Kong has always welcomed me home and I look forward to showing off my home town and sharing all the little insights and local specialities with all my guests!
