About This Listing
Me,( Sabine) Franco and Francesca rent this apartment ( AFFITTACAMERE LIA) in the historical center of Vernazza in the famous caruggi. it consists in two rooms, of which one has a king size bed and there is the possibility to have another bed in the second room which is a living room, has private bathroom.
no kitchen but a fridge and water boiler for tea are provided. There is a fan but no air conditioning. when reserving the room, the whole will be just for you, it won't be shared with any strangers.
The room is only 2 min from the trainstation, but very quiet because it's situated in one of the very little back streets. Vernazza is very small it has one "mainstreet" with all shops like grocery, bakery and farmacy but also bars and restaurants. To reach the shops, the walking pathes, the beach you need less than 5 min walk.
To reach Vernazza from Pisa airport you can catch the train from the airport in pisa that get's you to Pisa Centrale and from there get a regional train or a fast Intercity that will get you to La Spezia in about one hour and from there trains run every hour or less to the cinque terre.
From 2015 there is a municipal tax of 1 euro/ person/ night to pay at your arrival
check out at 10 a.m, to check in please come to the shop "Enoteca Schiacchetrà " in via Roma 19 ( main street) Vernazza
Sabine made us feel right at home, with our very first airbnb experience in Vernazza. It was so intriguing living as a local and we especially enjoyed experiencing living amongst Italians and learning more about the way they live. The home was only a 2 minute walk from wifi and the main beach, super close to the hike to Monterosso and Corniglia, both of which we did. Sabine went well out of her way to help us and made our stay in Vernazza the best experience possible, I would highly recommend staying here! Large beds, included plates and utensils/teas for us to utilise, a traditional clothesline which we loved using as local Italians would, plenty of power points, very safe area, perfect location both near to the main street but not loud at night.
The host was unattentive. The apartment smelled like mold. Ants were on the walls. Thin towels.
My husband and I had 3 nights stay in Vernazza and we loved it so much! We I arrived at about 11 am. The check in was very easy and smooth. We found the enoteca at once. The location was perfect: near the train station and the main street, not that many stairs to climb and not noisy, you can only hear the church bell ringing every hour, which we found very charming. The apartment itself was very clean and cosy, equipted with everything we needed. Our hosts were very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. We had a very nice surprise during our stay, our host gave us a bottle of their house wine which they make only for family use. We enjoyed it in the evening, and it was so delisious. Once again we want to thank our hosts for everything and will definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants to visit Cinque Terre.
Excellent location - being so near the railway station and boat pier enabled us to get the most out of our visit to Cinque Terre. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. Sabine provided precise directions to enable us to find her upon arrival and was responsive to my text messages during our stay. I appreciated that she alerted us upfront to the possibility of the power being interrupted so there were no rude surprises. The beds are comfortable, water pressure was good so no complaints there. The only time we had an issue was when the 3 of us (women) washed our hair and the hot water ran out when last person was showering.
There is no Internet in the room and in that area, the signal is poor for mobile data but when you're in such a beautiful area, your time would be better spent not staring at your mobile device.
Sabine was welcoming and the check in was quite easy, and the directions to the shop from the train station were very easy to follow. Accomodations were clean and quite spacious. Its located up quite a few stairs, as most places in the Cinque Terre area, so pack lightly. Very close to everything (town center, trails to other towns, restraunts...), safe, pretty quiet. Great accomodations for the price!
About the Host, Sabine
I'm from Germany and I live here in Vernazza,I rent the room " AFFITTACAMERE LIA" together with Franco and Francesca. We run a small business in the village, I like to go to the nature, share time with my family and friends. The family of my husband has a little vineyard and some olive trees, my husband spends a lot of time there and if I have time I like it very much to go there and to help him.
