Come and visit this quiet and peaceful setting on the Ware River. The estate boasts 290 ft of shoreline. The charming historic cottage is on a 7 acre estate on Ware Neck. This is a great home base for exploring Wlliamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown and Richmond.

Please view photos in full screen and click on the individual photos so that you can see the captions. Otherwise, you might confuse the cottage with other dependencies on the property.

There is a fee for pets and they need pre-approval.

The space
The cottage dates to 1790, has hand hewn beams, fireplaces in bedroom and living room, ceiling fans in Bedroom and on porch. Though historic, the cottage has been nicely updated with central heat and central AC . The cottage faces a restored icehouse from the eighteenth century. There is a dock for sitting, fishing, kayaking etc. the property itself is very walkable with gardens to enjoy and outdoor places to sit and relax or dine. The dock is private to the property but is also used by the owners.

We are on a property that feels remote while at the same time, being close to restaurants, grocery stores, theaters as well as the historic triangle. We have a wonderful country store (Nuttall) nearby that offers lots of yummy prepared foods. The property sits on the Ware River which provides opportunities for boating, fishing, crabbing and watching the diverse bird population.

I am a gardener, beekeeper, and anesthesiologist. I enjoy being out doors, traveling , books that i can't put down, fresh sheets, and my family. I am a laid back, fly by the seat of my pants type of traveler, believing that the best experiences are most often stumbled upon.I am independent and tidy and would make an excellent guest.
