Romantic, idyllic house with a big garden in the countryside - only 15 minutes to the beautiful beach in Tisvildeleje and only 50 minutes from Copenhagen by car. One hour and 15 minutes by train to Copenhagen. Also possible to bring your bicycles in the train - if you prefer that.
The house has one parking space.
My grandmothers house is suitable for two adults maybe with one young child. The house has two rooms: The living room with dinner table and chairs, and in the end of the room you find the big double bed - kind of separated from the rest - close to the bathroom. In the other end of the house you find the tv-room with a sofa, where you can relax in the evenings. If you have a little child, we can provide you with a child bed and a tall chair for the table.
There are no stairs in the house which makes it ideal if you are elderly.
The house is located in a small, old village called Nejlinge.
The bathroom is brand new and has a shower and nice heating in the floor if it gets a little cold. Functional, charming kitchen with everything you need for cooking. The house has a wireless internet connection, and you can breathe safely, because this is a totally non smoking house.
Only 10 minutes by car to the city Helsinge, where you can find lot's of supermarkets, small shops, cafés and a few restaurants. A station with trains to Hillerød connecting to Copenhagen. The other direction takes you to Tisvildeleje and the beach in only 15 minutes. It also takes 15 minutes to walk from the station in Helsinge to the house.
Very short distance to a number of North Sealands beautiful attractions, castles, museums, restaurants, stunning beaches and forests and ancient landscapes shaped by the ice age.
The house is in fact the perfect base for day trips in the area. The closest beach is only 25 minutes away by car
You can also use the house for a relaxing vacation without too much action. Then you just go out the door and enjoy the big garden, and if you are lucky, you can say hello to a few red, curious cows on the other side of the fence.
During the summer the garden is full of flowers.
My grandmothers house has been owned by my family since 1954 but even back then, the house was already 100 years old.
When I was a child, we lived next door, and I could run to my grandmother and say hello whenever I wanted. Sometimes she made pancakes in the kitchen and told me stories about her childhood.
My parents are still living next door, and they own My grandmothers house. It is also them who takes care of handing you the keys by arrival, provide you with bedsheets and towels and make sure, there is coffee and tea, a box of cereal, fruit and some milk in the fridge when you arrive. They are really nice people, and my mom knows a thing or two about flowers. Don't hesitate to ask if she is around ;o)
A lot of effort has been put into the house to restore it gently and respectfully during the years. In 2011/2012 the brand new thatched roof was a reality, and now the house is totally up to date with recently decorated rooms, new carpet on the floor and a lot of nice details inside and outside the house.
My grandmother would be proud and glad to see, how charming her house looks now.
Welcome to her house.
Cecilia - on behalf of my sweet parents.
Amazing house, amazing host, lovely cats. Recommended.
I stayed with Cecilia the week I moved to Copenhagen. It was a pretty stressful time and she definitely made it much easier to deal with. She gave me a lot of useful tips for which I am so so very grateful. And the cats are just lovely, I adore them :) The room is as seen in the pictures - cozy place to stay and rest from the day's challenges.
I would totally recommend Cecilia as your host in Copenhagen!
Cecilia and her two cats were lovely and friendly hosts. The apartment was top-located, clean and cosy. I would really love to stay there again.
Cecilia is a really great host! She's so friendly, open-minded and flexible that you feel at home. The room and the apartement is awesome and it is located perfectly. It's easy to get around and Cecilia is so helpful. All in all it's very recommendable :)
Cecilia was very hospitable. Kind and easygoing.
I felt very welcome and very much enjoyed having a cosy place in the middle of Vesterbro to stay.
Cecilia is very nice, flexible and easy to talk to. The apartment is really nice, clean, bright and easy to find. The room is very comfortable with plenty of space for your stuff. There's a nice easy-to-use kitchen and the bathroom is very good. Cecilia has two very friendly cats. I liked them a lot. They will certainly come and say hello periodically. Of course, if you prefer not to hang out with them you can just keep the door to your room closed. All told, I had a great time staying with Cecilia and would highly recommend her apartment to others!
It was my first time with Airbnb, and I was positively surprised. The room was nice and clean, and a well equipped kitchen was available as well. Near to the city but not too busy or loud. Cecilia was very friendly, open and easy going. The cats were very friendly, too. I will recommend this place to my friends and to anyone who is seeking for a room in Copenhagen!
Our whole experience with Cecilia and her flat was just perfect. She is a very nice and helpful person, has two lovely cats and her flat is very close to the city center in a nice neighbourhood. You have everything you need just around the corner. Highly recommended!
The stay at Cecilia's was great. She is very considerate of one's own privacy. She kept the apartment clean and welcoming. The walls are thin in the whole building. That part (noisy neighbors upstairs) would have been my only complain.
