Description

The space

Noura and her team offer a warm welcome for your stay at Riad located behind the walls of the old city, the medina of Marrakech.

We have restored this riad respecting traditional construction rules. It took five years to complete the total restoration that ended in September 2012. We have installed every modern comfort, water, heating, air conditioning, bathrooms and toilets in each room.

Located just steps from the Jemaa El Fna, with 4 bedrooms including a suite 4 people, a large patio, two lounges, a kitchen, a large terrace, one can easily accommodate up to ten people and even 12 with 2 extra beds. The booking price includes breakfast.

Meals can be ordered in the morning to the evening, served in a friendly atmosphere in one of two lounges, on the patio or on the terrace.

It is also possible to rent the entire house for a family or friends, like Christmas or a birthday.

All interests center are close to the Riad, Jemaa el Fna, the Koutoubia, Saadian Palace, the garden Adgal, the market of Gueliz, the souk Beldi, Majorelle Gardens, art galleries, upscale restaurants and popular nightclubs, water parks with access to free shuttle service.

We can arrange excursions and guided tours. If you have time, we particularly recommend a day trip to Essaouira, a charming town on the Atlantic coast in the west that absolutely must be seen. We also recommend the two-day trip in the Sahara desert around Zagora with overnight camping.

Discover the enchanting Moroccan atmosphere, mysterious, with a thousand colors.

Guest access

Guest can access to all the amenities excepted the kitchen which is a working area.

Interaction with guests

Before coming, we give a hand to our guests to prepare the stay and take in account all the requests. When the Riad is reached, we provide advice for all needs. We arrange sightseeings with local tourist agencies: night in desert, Essaouira port journey, etc...

The neighborhood

Our neighborhood is very close to the Djemaa El Fna and all the amenities you need: all kinds of shops, grocery, pharmacy, restaurant with all tastes and prices, baker, glacier, call shop, office tobacco, laundry, etc ...
Jemaa El Fna is rather turbulent and agitated. However, our neighborhood is quiet because it is located in a small street.

This place has air conditioning, and it's only a few minutes from the Djemma El-Fna. I don't know what else you could possibly want.

Initially, me&my girlfriend saw the photos on the website and the riad seemed really nice and cozy, but our expectations were completely disappointed by the terrible conditions of the room. The first impression was negative, on the way to the riad I called and the guy on the phone treated me really bad, he only spoke french -no english (I find this incredible as we are foreigners and we don't speak french we can only speak english) and he was rude because I couldn't understand his french! Therefore, I tried to call Noura on her mobile-twice- but she didn't reply!! Once arrived, the room was cold, uncleaned, had essential furniture and the door/window had big drafts which let passed the cold air from the roof top where our room was located (probably more enjoyable in the summer then in the winter). The bathroom was worse than the room as it was colder, the toilet flush didn't work properly and there wasn't enough soap for both of us to shower. The riad is situated near a mosquee so early in the morning-around 6am- you can clearly hear the muezzin's prayers. The breakfast was nothing special, we had cold american pancakes with terrible cold coffee. The day before the departure, we've been waken up at 7am because the lady had misunderstood our french communication without checking our departure schedule that any riad should have in their documentation. The last day (after we communicated to the guy of the riad our departure) we found the door completely locked without no keys so we had to wake up someone to let us leave! We were very disappointed by this bad experience and we don't recommend this riad to anyone.

Response from Noura:
Hello Gianluca I am completely sorry for your bad feelings about your stay at Riad. I was not there during your stay since I accompanied guests in the Sahara desert. I understand that not everything is perfect in my Riad, but then to describe an Apocalypse! My phone is always on, and if I did not receive your calls, it is without doubt that I could not capture. Besides, you have left me no message so that I can reframe things. That said, I hear your higher demand. I agree when you say that my staff do not fully mastered the languages. For the rest, I leave to the hundreds of guests who came to my house to assess the relevance of your comment. I understand that you are dissatisfied on what you lived.

Stunning Riad with the loveliest, caring staff; our breakfasts were beautifully prepared with much love! Despite the language barrier from both ends, it was very sweet trying to communicate and getting to know both Amina and Karim as they were both warm and had great senses of humor. We stayed in one of the rooftop rooms which could be extremely cold in the evening; perhaps request a specific room prior to arrival as we expected the Air bnb listing with the room number to correspond with the room we reserved. Other than that, we had such a great stay and hope to return soon!
