Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, house with gardens and outdoor BBQ entertaining area, 10min walk to Whale Beach. We have Sydney's best surfing beaches and stunning Pittwater inlet for sailing, kayaking. Nearby Avalon has cafes, bookstore, shops, cinema. Regular bus to City and other beaches. WiFi and TV, DVD.
The detached house is light and airy and has polished wood floors and is great for entertaining, indoor or outdoor. All bedrooms have built in robes (one queen, one double and one single bed). Shower has massage function. In the mornings the only thing that will wake you are the amazing sounds of exotic Australian native birds including Kookaburra, Lorikeets, Cockatoos, Currawongs, etc. Great and safe for children too and friendly neighbours. Free parking in low crime area. Go boating, kayaking in Pittwater, lots of great walks; ferry to Kuringai National Park and Central Coast; great restaurants at Avalon, Whale and Palm beaches and boutique cinema and great bookshop in Avalon.
The house sleeps 5 people comfortably.
During your stay you have the run of the whole house and gardens and we would love you make our home yours for the visit. WiFi, TV including Foxtel, DVD. Feel free to BBQ outside or cook indoors or stroll to local eateries such as Cranzgots where the locals go and bring their own wine.
Interaction with Guests
We will not be in the house when you visit however our good friend Julianna or daughter Isobel will look after you and have the keys for collection. They will gladly help you in any way possible. We can be contacted by email at any time (email hidden)
Traffic free, peaceful and friendly, surrounded by native gum trees, tree ferns and exotic flowers and other plants. Two minute walk to bus stop for City or other beaches. The region's best croissants and treats can be found at La Banette bakery in Avalon. Italian, Thai, French, Spanish, Indian, Chinese and Australian cuisine are all available locally. Good medical facilities, yoga and Pilates also available locally.
If you like water try surfing, whale watching, boating and head to Sydney centre for theatres and sight seeing too. Walking/jogging is hard to beat around here and there is a links golf course at Palm Beach and a 9 hole one at Avalon and further courses at Mona Vale and beyond. Local tennis club. Great area for families with children and for anyone loving the outdoors.
Sydney Airport is about one hour away and there are shuttle buses such as North Shore Shuttle Express (tel (phone number hidden) or local call (phone number hidden) or email (email hidden).au
The local L90 bus runs about every 30 minutes to the City and Palm Beach (view time table online). The nearest bus stop is 4 minutes walk on the corner of Barrenjoey Road and Careel Head Road. There is also an early morning express bus E88 which requires prepaid tickets (L90 you can pay as you enter or buy prepaid tickets in newsagents or local supermarket).
Other Things to Note
Local weather in winter is usually sunny to 16C but can be cool at night to about 6C. No frost or snow. Hottest months are January February but usually with afternoon sea breezes.
This is a quiet residential neighbourhood and we would ask you to consider the neighbours and not play loud music after 11PM. Otherwise relax and enjoy the local beach culture!
We don't mind pets if house trained. Front garden has a fully fenced area. Back is more open.
No smoking in house but ok outside provided you remove all cigarette butts.
