Comfortable family home in Soquel, Ca - only 2 miles from Capitola beach, and a 10 minute drive to Santa Cruz or the redwoods. We have three bedrooms available - a master suite downstairs, and two bedrooms upstairs: one with a day bed and trundle bed, the second with bunks beds and toys, perfect for young children.
Our home also has a full kitchen and dining room, 3 bathrooms, and living room with TV, piano, and balcony. Our deck, patio, and barbecue are also free to use and a great place to enjoy the trees and beautiful weather.
Our home is not fancy, but we are hoping to provide a comfortable and affordable option for families - in a wonderful location with so many things to enjoy: the beach, the forest, hikes, parks, surfing, and more!
Guests have access to our entire home. Nothing is shared and they should make themselves at home!
Interaction with Guests
We rent out our personal home while we are away, so unfortunately we will not be around to welcome our guests. But we do have a neighbor that is available to assist our guests should they need anything!
Over Christmas we would like to rent out our home for at least 4 nights, if possible. If you would like to stay for more than a night or two please inquire!
We live in a quiet neighborhood tucked in the hills of Soquel. We have friendly neighbors and plenty of space to relax and feel at home. We like feeling far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Capitola, but close enough to enjoy the sites when we want!
We are only .3 miles from Soquel Dr, a main street. There is a bus stop on Soquel Dr just around the corner from us. Bus routes can take quests north to Santa Cruz or South to Aptos/Watsonville. There is plenty of free parking at our home for guests. You can fit at least 3 cars in our driveway (although it is a little steep). Cars can also be parked during the day on the dirt road above our home.
Guests are welcome to use what is needed and make themselves at home. Please do not leave cars parked overnight on the dirt road above our home - it is a fire road and needs to remain clear. There is plenty of room for parking in our driveway. You may have visitors, however we ask that you respect our neighbors and try to keep quiet hours from 10pm-7am. You may also bring a pet, we just ask that you please clean up after them. No smoking inside the home.
Rachel and her family went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We felt like we were staying at a good friends home. Their home was just as described and perfect for our needs. The location was great. The neighborhood was nice to take walks in.
Really enjoyed our stay in this Soquel home. Excellent location, clean, and comfortable. Also, Rachel communicated really well, and was easy to contact and responsive to questions during our trip. Would recommend this listing to others for sure.
A very nice house with a welcoming atmosphere. Great location. Quiet and safe area.
Our family enjoyed our stay here very much. There was plenty of room for our family of four and my in-laws. The house was clean, well organized, comfortable and in a great location. The neighborhood was rural feeling but yet felt "in town" and is a quick drive to the beach and businesses such as Gayle's Bakery. Rachel was always quick to respond to my questions and provided all the information we needed.
I was in town for a wedding but almost every hotel was booked, that's where Rachel came to my rescue. She responded promptly to all emails and her house has EVERYTHING you need for a comfortable stay.
Rachel was very accomadting and easy to deal with. The house was as described. We were very satisfied.
The house was perfect for our small group. The Marchessault's had stocked up the refrigerator and everything was ready for us. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and enjoyed the quiet of our surroundings.
I am a mom and teacher who loves where she lives! Our family loves to be active in nature and we feel blessed to live in a such wonderful place to enjoy the outdoors. My husband is a pastor and teacher and we have 2 wonderful boys. We love to hike, play games, go to the beach, and listen/play/sing with music!
We are spending a few weeks visiting family in Southern California and thought it would be a great opportunity to share our home. We hope that if you stay in our space, we can show you around and make you feel as at home as we do!
We love to host parties and try to be generous and hospitable with our space. It feels natural to open our home to other families who may need an affordable place to stay and who want to enjoy this amazing place!
