The room has a full size bed, dresser, closet, reading chair, ½ bath toilet & sink. Enjoy the privacy, or venture out to enjoy common spaces that have a full kitchen, sitting areas, laundry room & shower. Sip coffee overlooking the gardens in the shared kitchen or find a cozy reading nook on a couch or outside. Relax & restore in a quintessential Vermont town surrounded by green mountains & silver lakes. This bedroom is up 1 flight of stairs.

The space
Barnard is one of Vermont's best kept secrets. An outdoor lover's haven! Home to Silver Lake State Park, hiking, biking, local farms, theater and so much more.
Your suite is located on the historic 1796 property that was the original crossroads to Woodstock. Enjoy the acres of perennial gardens, walking paths, & find yourself out back at a private pond with a gazebo.

Barnard is near Woodstock, South Royalton (Vermont Law School), Hanover (Dartmouth) and Quechee. It is a central destination for access to local dining, culture and skiing. Just 10 minutes from Saskadena 6, literally you are on the VAST trail & not far from Killington & Pico.

Guest access
Guests access the room from the second floor of The Barnard Inn Restaurant (closed for nightly dining). Guests arrive and park wherever convenient. Then walk up the side staircase to the upper porch. There you will find a lockbox (a code will be sent to you on the day of your arrival) for the keys you will need to enter through the French doors.

Once inside, remember to lock the French doors behind you.

Upon entry there is a shared full kitchen and a long hallway leading to the single room which is on the right. There is a keyless entry with the same code to this room. The room has a private toilet & sink only. The shower for your use is in the bathroom down the long hallway.

Please enjoy the shared spaces and remember to clean up after every meal for everyones comfort.

Other things to note
The room is so cozy with reading lights, comfy chair & closet space. The private half bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom is spacious with a toilet & large sink area.

There is a bathroom caddy with a bath mat and bath towels to bring to the shower down the hallway.
Only two designated rooms will use that shower, yours and Nana's Bedroom down the hall. The shower has shampoo, conditioner & body soap.

Cozy up in the living room with couches, chairs, reading lights, games & books, as well as a breakfast nook & hang out area overlooking the gardens & grounds.

Shared chef kitchen which includes a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, refrigerator, dishwasher, silverware, dishes, wine & bubbly glasses, cups, knives, paper towels, dish soap & sponge. Cleaning after every use is an expectation in this space unless you have rented the entire two floors for a larger family stay.

In the cupboard you may find shared non-perishable household items. Feel free to use them & replace as possible.

Please drink the water, it is from a deep well and tested regularly.

Shared washer dryer available & detergent for you to use. Cleaning supplies, including a vacuum, can be found in the hallway closet and under the kitchen sink.

Upon entry there is a shared mud room to the right for any wet or muddy shoes.
Please keep mud and water off of the wood floors and historic rooms.
All ski gear and wet jackets must be left in this room or outside on the porch.

The Wifi on the property is connected to ec-fiber which is one of the fastest internet systems.

Fire Exit: there are two options. 1) exit back down the hallway to the French doors you entered through 2) or across from your room is a FIRE DOOR that goes down to the front entrance of the restaurant to Route 12.

I am an educator and entrepreneur. My husband and I have run the Barnard Inn for nearly 25 years and raised 5 kids. As we enter the next phase of life, we enjoy hosting guests in our amazing space.
