The upstairs of our barn is where our farm interns stay. We usually have a couple of interns from April through October. The space is huge. There are 2 double bed futons, a cot, and a single bed mattress. There's also plenty of carpeted floor space for sleeping bags.
Inside the barn, a futon on either side and a sitting area near the windows. A table and several dressers are nearby. Tune in the radio for some music or talk shows.
It's a rustic space, unheated. We cannot accept guests in cold weather. There are a couple of fans for hot weather. It's perfect for young adults who are on the move, but short on money. Bicycles travelers are most welcome!
It has its own private entrance. It's a free standing building separate from the house. There is a compost toilet downstairs.
Interaction with Guests
Plenty of interaction with our interns. They can show you the farm and where you can swim or go for a walk.
Robin and Greg invited me for dinner and fed me a delicious breakfast and even sent me away with fresh snap peas and strawberries grown on their farm! The barn sleeping space is beautiful and very comfortable. I was super well rested and taken care of. I hope to return someday. I even just recommended to my brother that he stay on his way on a cross country road trip.
