This was a great loft right between downtown and midtown Detroit. I was attending the Detroit Auto Show and wanted a place a bit more private than the usual hotels. This was perfect. Private parking area, appreciated. The table there was a great work surface for all of our meetings. Joe left a clean and ready place. Kitchen for small meals, large screen TV, comfy beds. Just note, it is a loft, so no doors on the bedrooms. Joe left a bottle of wine and some good coffee, which was a nice touch.
Me, My wife and our 2 children stayed at Joe's Loft over Thanksgiving and had a blast. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. So much more than a hotel stay. For those worried about safety concerns... There was discussions about staying in Detroit and how safe it would be with the children. Fortunately Joe's loft is a very safe and secure property with a fully fenced and secure parking area attached to the building, secure entry and exit, a remote control for the electric gate. And the area is cool because of all the renovation going on downtown. To give a snapshot of what is happening in the area, Wholefood's Market just opened a Detroit location 3-4 blocks away. You have everything at your fingertips. Thanks again Joe!
This loft! This beautiful, glorious, magical loft! We absolutely loved it! It was like coming home to warm and open arms every night with 34 degree weather. The exposed ceilings, the decor, the taxidermy! It was just perfect! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It's an easy to get to location just off the main highway and there is a Whole Foods right now the street so you can stock up on yumminess! The beds were super comfy and honestly, it made our whole trip! Oh and laundry too! And the shampoo and conditioner he offers is fab! Hah. Thanks Joe, you rock!
This place is great, and in a great location with Whole Foods and Kinkos around the corner. ! I plan to stay here again on my next visit to Detroit as it had everything I needed and more. The pre-mixed Annie Hall Manhattans were a brilliant touch.
The loft is appealing and huge with a tasteful interior and the heated floors are awesome. Joe welcomed us in front of the building and showed us the appartment and explained the surroundings of Midtown as well as he had already put some cans of his favorite beer as welcome gift for us in the fridge. Thanks :-)
There was no real coffee maker and it was time-consuming to prepare coffee for two with the available 'mini-coffee press' but it made good coffee . The dishwasher was not working properly and the dishes on the upper slot came out dirty.
Joe is a very kind and friendly person who recommended a tons of good places to visit: bars, restaurants, etc. Top 3 ratebeer IPA was in the fridge as a kind present from him along with a delicious coffee. The apartment was very spacious and clean it is ideal for 2-4 persons (rustic in a way :) ). The kitchen was well equipped. The price was a bit high but it's in a good neighborhood in Detroit. It's a recommended place to stay for a couple of days or weeks!
This was our second time at Joe's place and it was the perfect location for all we had planned in Detroit. A quick walk to Comerica and a short drive to the DIA, Eastern Market and restaurants and bars. Lovely trip and great place to stay!
