Svetlana was very accommodating, she helped to find directions to the apartment, advised on parking and the apartment was equipped with extra towels as well as the fridge was full of food that we could use.
Description of apartment is very accurate, totally corresponds to picture
The host (and her husband) were great. I never met them, but I never had a problem with communication. Always fast responses.
The location of this place is perfect if you aren't planning on driving a lot. It's in the best location of South Beach, hands down.
The room is as described and like the pictures. It was less clean than I expected and could definitely use renovations, but for the price we paid and the location we got, I can't complain. It's actually perfect if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room. I expressed that it would be 4 girls staying for 6 nights of Spring Break, and when we arrived there were clean towels and and the pull out sofa was already set up for us, very welcoming. There is WiFi and television. I didn't use the kitchen at all but it seemed okay.
I found the apartment easy and the location is great ... the apartment is like in the pics but it could be cleaned a lil more ...
This apartment had the perfect location for me. One minute walk from both Ocean Drive and Washington Ave with everything I needed. I didn't meet Svetlana, all communication was via text or Airbnb which was fine.
The apartment was as seen in the photos. Plenty of space for two people but it may be a bit cramped if there are 4 of you. Bed was comfortable. I'd recommend earplugs as sound travels through the block and it's next to a main road but it didn't disturb my sleep. I didn't use the sofa bed so can't comment on that. I didn't use the kitchen so can't say if everything worked or if there are enough utensils, crockery etc.
I would recommend the apartment if you want to party on South Beach and don't want to travel around. I'd stay there again. Thanks Svetlana!
We ended up booking Svetlana's place after our original AirBnB fell through due to the blizzard in NYC.
-The hosts were accommodating with our late check in. When we arrived there were only 4 towels, but when we asked, they were responsive and brought us some more. If you stay here they will always be available to communicate it seems.
-The location is awesome; you can walk where ever you need to go. We only took a cab to the airport and also once more to go to a location further up north in Miami Beach.
-The place is like a crash pad. When we arrived nothing really seemed clean. The shower was not clean. The kitchen was terrible (old condiments left over, dish in the sink, dust on floors). I don't understand what the 75$ cleaning fee really covers. Our linens did not seem very clean. Stains on the couch and carpet.
-There was no where to put your things - there's a walk in closet but no way to use it. No dresser in bed room. I ended up living out of my suitcase rather than being able to unpack for 5 days.
-Blinds were broken, curtains dusty.
-Light next to bedside stand was falling over.
-Picture hung lower than bedframe - it just kind of looked rushed.
-No scissors (it seems stupid but we really needed them)
-Half used hotel lotion bottles in shower, large bottle of shampoo, and what looked like left over small travel conditioner. No soap. No toiletries really included or no idea whether it was just left behind by previous stay.
It just didn't seem lived in or well thought up of. Its definitely good for location and I could imagine it being OK for a group of teens getting away. While it was easy to ignore by going out and seeing all that Miami had to offer, it would have been nice to have the option to veg out in our AirBnB spot comfortably. Instead, we just avoided it as much as possible, slept and stored our stuff here.
I don't really know where to start. Nada seems to have found something wrong with every little thing. From the condiments in the kitchen being half open to the shampoo and body wash not being brand new. She even had a problem with a picture frame being hung too low.
This is not a hotel. This is someone's apartment. Everything is cleaned before guest arrival. Yes there are condiments like ketchup and mustard, salt pepper, they are all there for guests to use. If you don't want to, no one is forcing you to use it. Some guests actually like that there are certain things available in the fridge. Shampoo and body wash, are also not changed after each guest. I don't see anything wrong with half full large bottles of shampoo and body wash.
You say there was nowhere to put your clothes, there were only 2 of you, there's a giant walk in closet with hangers and shelving. There's a 3 case drawer in the apartment.
I could go on and on, but basically Nada, you were just looking for things to complain about. You paid less than half the cost of any hotel in the area and you complain about the price. Complaining there weren't scissors in the apartment is just laughable. You were in the heart of South Beach, 1 block from the beach for just over $100/night. I guess you're used to motel prices for a 5 star hotel.
My friend and I stayed in Svetlana's apartment for a week around New Years. We had a fairly nice stay, with a couple of cons. The apartment generally matches the pictures in terms of cleanliness and furniture, but there were a few broken things - broken blinds in the bedroom, torn shower curtain, some of the lights in the kitchen didn't work, old and old condiments in the fridge. The bedroom could have also used a bureau - the only one available was in the living room, and the drawers were filled with magazine, some sand (?), and other misc. stuff. Since it was NYE, the price was also on the high end, so I would have liked to have arrived at a more put together apartment.
HOWEVER, my qualms should NOT deter you from this apartment. Svetlana's husband (my main contact) was quite responsive, and helped with any questions I had. The apartment is pretty big - I stayed with 1 other friend (he slept on the sofabed) and it was plenty of space for us. You could probably accommodate 3 or 4 people with no big issues. And of course, the biggest draw - you're ONE block from the beach! Not only that, but the area of South Beach where the apartment is located is near a ton of shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, etc.
If you go at an off-peak time when the price is a little lower, this is totally worth it. As it is, it's a totally fine apartment with an amazing location.
Apt seems as described.
It is really close to the beach, resturants/coffees and shops.
The kitchen was dirty.
