Our beautifully restored colonial home has been decorated with objects from all over the world. It consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and is comfortable for 6 guests, with plenty larger spaces to be together as well as intimate spaces to be alone.

The space

This beautiful 400 year old colonial home is on one of the best streets in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, just 1.5 blocks from the "Jardin" or main square.

The house includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms:

The master bedroom is on the ground floor and has a king size bed and a fireplace. The master bathroom is en-suite and includes double sinks and separate tub and shower.

The guest bedrooms and bath are on the second floor. One has a queen size bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the front patio. The other has two twin beds, a desk, a balcony plus a tree-lined private terrace with two lounge chairs.

The guest bath has double sinks, a large tub/shower combination, a toilet and a bidet.

There is a central stereo system with speakers in the main entertaining areas. Just plug in your iPod or MP3 player and you are all set.

The house has a living room, library and dining room each with a fireplace. There is also a morning room off the kitchen. The third bathroom is located just off the morning room and very close to the pool. This bath also includes a shower.

The kitchen is very well appointed and has a large commercial range.

There is an outdoor "sala" (living room), an outdoor kitchen with gas grill and an outdoor dining area.

The house has a heated pool located in a very private and sunny patio just a few steps away from the outdoor kitchen and dining area. This area is perfect for year-round outdoor entertaining.

The roof terrace has spectacular views of San Miguel and the mountains beyond.

The house is staffed with a maid 6 days a week and a part time pool/garden man. In addition to keeping the house clean, the maid can cook one meal a day. Groceries are not included but she will do the shopping for you if you would like.

Guest access

The entire house with the exception of the staff and storage areas.

Interaction with guests

We are not normally in San Miguel when our house is rented, so our personal interaction with guests will be minimal. However our household staff works six days a week and our manager is always available by cell phone to answer questions. I am also available by email or phone, should a guest need additional help.

Other things to note

It is the custom in San Miguel de Allende to tip the maid 5% of the total rental amount a guest pays. Just as you would do in a restaurant, you can adjust this based on the service you receive.

The pool can be heated, but it is an extra $175 US Dollars per week to cover the cost of the gas. You can decide to heat it only certain days, and the rate will be prorated at $25 US Dollars per day and charged accordingly. Please let us know before you arrive if you would like it heated for your arrival. Otherwise, you can coordinate with the house staff.

Check-in is between 3 and 5 pm. If you need to check-in later, we can arrange to have someone to meet you. If you need to check out before 9 am, we would need to arrange to have someone meet you at the house to get the keys, lock up, and set the alarm. Whether it is a late check-in or early check-out, we ask that you tip the person meeting you $20 US Dollars or the Peso equivilant.

The pictures of the home do not do it justice. Every inch of the home is stunning...the decor, architecture, physical space...just lovely!! Rob is an AMAZING host. He always responded promptly and was more than accommodating. He made the experience that much better! The home is steps away from the jardin (central garden) and the stunning main Cathedral. There are tons of adorable shops and restaurants steps away from the home. As it is centrally located to EVERYTHING!!

Beautifully restored home steps from central square, best dining and shops. Each room appointed with art and antiques from around the world. Immaculate and comfortable home with every guest's needs well thought out. Vicki, lovely maid, did shopping, prepared daily breakfast,( fresh fruit, squeezed O.J. eggs, pancakes, what ever we liked) did laundry but gave us all the privacy we needed. Lovely gardens, pool and roof top patios to view the sun set and iconic town scape. We hope to return soon.

Honestly one of the most beautiful cozy homes I have ever stayed in. Fantastically close to the jardin, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are decorated very cozy with a wood burning fireplace (master). I personally loved the fireplace. The staff Viki and Juan very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable. The house itself has an exquisite indoor "garden" and pool! Instagram worthy views, from the rooftop. The only set back I would say is the bed (master/all beds) are on the firm side. But like I said the house is phenomenal! Thank you Rob for sharing your home with all us AirbnbERS. Kind Regards, Diana and Ismir

The location was fantastic, very convenient to the main square and activities. We also liked the short walk to the park and access to the nearby San Antonio district for great restaurants. As we traveled with a young kid, we really appreciated the cot that was provided at our request. The house is beautiful, the split levels design was really charming - it was not an issue for us (even with a toddler) - but please be aware that there are steps between each single room in the house. Rob was great communicating with us ahead of the trip, and having breakfast cooked by Vicky for us every morning was a real treat. I would strongly recommend you ask for the pool to be heated up, as it gets cooler at night in SMA. This is the best of what Airbnb has to offer...

This has to be one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in. The house was absolutely gorgeous. It was warm and breathtaking. Rob was the perfect host. He took care of us from beginning to the end. He thought of everything such as transportation to and from the airport, a guide manual for the house features, recommendations for shops and restaurants, etc. We didn't have to worry about a thing. The house was walking distance to the shops and restaurants. There is no need for renting a car. Taxicabs are also available if you want to go outside the central area. We walked everywhere and came back to the house for relaxation. Viki was the perfect Housekeeper/cook. She cooked on the days we didn't want to go out to eat. She also made sure the house was spotless and in order. To really appreciate the authentic experience of San Miguel de Allende, I highly recommend staying here.

Perfectly located for convenience and on a beautiful street, this house fulfills everything that an experienced traveler expects. 2 blocks from the Jardin, we loved hearing the bells, and watching the several parades down our street - for weddings, for holidays too. The staff met all of our needs and wishes - breakfasts, Mexican dishes, frequent laundry with ironing!, cleaning. The garden was beautifully tended. The newly renovated living room and study were great places to read and write. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The artwork throughout was carefully chosen and nicely displayed. We especially liked the outdoor dining area - not only for dining - but also reading (and painting) and writing. Beautiful views from the table on the top floor. This was our second year here, and it was even better this time than the first.
