Our beautifully restored colonial home has been decorated with objects from all over the world. It consists of 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and is comfortable for 6 guests, with plenty larger spaces to be together as well as intimate spaces to be alone.
This beautiful 400 year old colonial home is on one of the best streets in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, just 1.5 blocks from the "Jardin" or main square.
The house includes 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms:
The master bedroom is on the ground floor and has a king size bed and a fireplace. The master bathroom is en-suite and includes double sinks and separate tub and shower.
The guest bedrooms and bath are on the second floor. One has a queen size bed and a lovely balcony overlooking the front patio. The other has two twin beds, a desk, a balcony plus a tree-lined private terrace with two lounge chairs.
The guest bath has double sinks, a large tub/shower combination, a toilet and a bidet.
There is a central stereo system with speakers in the main entertaining areas. Just plug in your iPod or MP3 player and you are all set.
The house has a living room, library and dining room each with a fireplace. There is also a morning room off the kitchen. The third bathroom is located just off the morning room and very close to the pool. This bath also includes a shower.
The kitchen is very well appointed and has a large commercial range.
There is an outdoor "sala" (living room), an outdoor kitchen with gas grill and an outdoor dining area.
The house has a heated pool located in a very private and sunny patio just a few steps away from the outdoor kitchen and dining area. This area is perfect for year-round outdoor entertaining.
The roof terrace has spectacular views of San Miguel and the mountains beyond.
The house is staffed with a maid 6 days a week and a part time pool/garden man. In addition to keeping the house clean, the maid can cook one meal a day. Groceries are not included but she will do the shopping for you if you would like.

Interaction with Guests
We are not normally in San Miguel when our house is rented, so our personal interaction with guests will be minimal. However our household staff works six days a week and our manager is always available by cell phone to answer questions. I am also available by email or phone, should a guest need additional help.
The house is located in the colonial center, just 1.5 blocks from the "Jardin" or main square. The best shops and restaurants in San Miguel are just steps from the front door.
We have created an Owner's Guide to San Miguel for our guests which lists our favorite shops and restaurants as well as other information. It is in PDF format and is sent once a booking is confirmed. A printed copy will be in the home as well.
This is mostly a walking town. Taxis are also available at a very reasonable rate.
Other Things to Note
It is the custom in San Miguel de Allende to tip the maid 5% of the total rental amount a guest pays. Just as you would do in a restaurant, you can adjust this based on the service you receive.
The pool can be heated, but it is an extra $175 US Dollars per week to cover the cost of the gas. You can decide to heat it only certain days, and the rate will be prorated at $25 US Dollars per day and charged accordingly. Please let us know before you arrive if you would like it heated for your arrival. Otherwise, you can coordinate with the house staff.
Check-in is between 3 and 5pm. If you need to check-in later, we can arrange to have someone to meet you. If you need to check out before 9am, we would need to arrange to have someone meet you at the house to get the keys, lock up, and set the alarm. Whether it is a late check-in or early check-out, we ask that you tip the person meeting you $20 US Dollars or $250 Pesos.
While we allow pets, we do need to approve their size and number. We charge an additional pet deposit and renters are responsible for any damage caused by their animals.
Smoking is only allowed in the outdoor entertaining areas. Please do not smoke inside.
