Neighborhood: HAYES VALLEY. This San Francisco vacation rental is located in the heart of Hayes Valley. Unlike some other parts of San Francisco, Hayes Valley has managed to retain a sense of community and a nonexclusive feel despite the fast build-up and high price tags. Some of the businesses that braved the less-than-savory days are still around, such as the Hayes Street Grill, now twice its original size. But many of the shops sprouted up in the '90s, making Hayes Valley a real destination spot. The combination results in a wide diversity in clientele. While high-end San Franciscans sip $7 cocktails at Absinthe, down the street many are powering down an entire meal for around the same price at Flipper's.
Now, tourists also head here specifically for the shopping, for one-of-a-kinds like a buffalo-leather chair or an exclusive Sue Wong Art Deco gown.
The Hayes Valley commercial sector is young in age, but adult in style. As a destination, it serves theater and symphony patrons as well as high-end fashion and furnishing shoppers.

We enjoyed our stay in San Francisco. The location was super convenient and had good food options in the area. Bernat was very quick to respond to any questions we had. I felt the price was certainly fair for the space, it especially nice to have some outdoor space for morning coffee. We thought we would use the kitchen/grill more while we were there but didn't consider the lack of basics (spices/oil/useable pans & knives/etc) so we ended up eating out more (which worked out fine, so much good food to be had!) We would recommend it!
This was a great house in a great neighborhood! Nice amenities and a comfortable place to be in SFO.
Bernats description was perfect, and his tips were very helpful. Communication was prompt, and the reservation process and check in/out was all very easy. The Hayes Valley location turned out to be quite central to hit the tourist spots in every direction, but it also had a local cozy feel. There are lots of eateries and shops nearby, and its convenient to a market across the street and a Safeway a 1/3 mile away. The location was also just a few blocks off the interstate if you're driving, but its also easy for guests coming in from the airport on public transportation. It was great to have a guaranteed free parking space in front of the garage, taking away an extra expense and worry. The patio was great for grilling out and enjoying the outdoors. It's a large, cozy, eclectic space with a large table for dining. The house was large and roomy and fit all of our needs. We really loved our stay. Thanks so much.
We had a very pleasant stay at Bernat's place. It is a great location , close to everything. The house is well equiped. We had a small problem with the oven but Bernat was very helpful and the problem was fixed quickly. We enjoyed the feeling that the Victorian house provided . I definitely recommend it to anybody who wants to have authentic San Francisco experience.
This is a great house, good location and helpful landlord.
Nice place to stay when visiting San Francisco: conveniently located but also quiet. Home itself is specious and clean, it feels like at home. Much appreciated great communication with Bernat.
Highly recommended for anyone looking home experience.
Bernat's place on Page St. was great for our needs and we wanted to stay longer in this area of town. The rooms are cozy and nicely decorated. The wireless signal was a challenge but luckily we didn't spend much time in the listing anyways. Overall a great place.
I had a very pleasant stay at Bernat's house. I came with two colleagues for a conference that was taking place at the Moscone center and this location turned out to be very convenient. It was also great to be able to escape busy Union Square each evening after the conference for a bit of a Victorian atmosphere. The neighborhood is really nice, great cafés and restaurants and Bernat provided us with a very useful list of what we could do in this area.
We had a some problems with the internet connection, but Bernat did his best to fix the problem and we recovered a connection soon enough.
I definitely recommend Bernat's place in Hayes Valley.
