This was our first airbnb experience. We were promptly met by someone from the property management company at the agreed time, and quickly got settled. The place was clean and nice, and a good value for the price. We realized shortly after arriving that they had only left two towels and we were a party of four staying four nights. I quickly called the office and a few hours later someone came with additional towels.
The shower was great, with great water pressure, the kitchen features nice (although a little light on utensils), and all newer. The beds (including the sofa bed) were comfortable and the view from the back terrace into the internal courtyard was very pleasant. A large closet in the bedroom made it easy to store our suitcases.
There were indeed a lot of buses running along the main street a block from the apartment, although with traffic and waiting for the bus it was a little longer into old Rome than I expected. Not bad, though, and this is the only reason I rated as a four instead of a five. We enjoyed visiting the little pizzeria across the street from the apartment gates, and the cafe and supermarket around the corner. There was a tobacco shop located close by where we could get bus/metro passes, also.
Overall it was a good visit, and we were pleased with the place. If I would suggest any improvements, it would be to supply soap for the shower and dishwasher. We tried to purchase dishwasher soap, but couldn't read the package, and it turned out we had purchased water softener crystals, lol! (Hey, it had a picture of a dishwasher on the front - who knew?) We ended up buying regular dish soap and using a paper towel to wash the cups and plates we used, since there was no dishtowel that we could find.
Stefano is a great host. He was very helpful when we arrived. My wife's bag broke and he took us to a store closeby where we found a new bag at a reasonable price. He also recommended a great little restaurant next to his office to enjoy a nice lunch before we went over to the apartment. The place was brand new. Very clean and close to Vatican City. A few restaurants and supermarkets closeby were really good for those nights when you didn't want to go into the heart of the crazy city centre. Super great that it had an elevator too. The 2 balconies was a big bonus too.
Thanks again for everything Stefano. We'd highly recommend staying there.
