Ochaya Hasu est une « maison de thé » (ochaya) de 120 ans, elle est une des dernières machiya de ce type. Elle est située au centre de Kyoto, dans un ancien "quartier des plaisirs", connu sous le nom de Gojo rakuen ("le paradis de la rue Gojo") ou Kikuhama ("la baie des chrisanthèmes") en raison de ses nombreux attraits.
