The space

This guest bedroom is at the far end of our guest house and has views both east and west. It has direct access to the patio and pool area and a private entrance.

The private bathroom has a large shower and skylight.

The guest house is a large rambling ranch style home in the vineyards of Napa Valley. It is located on a 500+ acre ranch with an onsite winery.

The house has a large commercial kitchen, a large common living room with a fireplace and a glassed in dining room. There are front and back decks with great views of Chiles Valley (our narrow and picturesque valley within the Napa Valley, with ancient oaks, cascading hills and vineyards.)

Enjoy our natural setting where wildlife abounds and the only sounds you hear are your footsteps and the wide variety of birds in the forest.

Wake up to a full country breakfast, take a deep breath and experience the fresh morning air; walk thru the vineyards with our labradors; take a run along the county road or hike to the top of the hill.

Guest access

Guests enjoy the common areas of the guest house, the grounds, the pool patio etc. We serve a full breakfast every morning.

Interaction with guests

We live on the property but not in the guest house. There may be guests staying in the other rooms or you may be the only guests. We prepare breakfast and we offer wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening. We work on the property so we are generally available to our guests.

The neighborhood

This is a rural agricultural and viticultural area and is 10 miles from the town of St. Helena.

Other things to note

We are a registered Bed and Breakfast. We are required to pay a 14% transient occupancy tax to Napa County. This charge is included in your Airbnb charge.

Great place and great hosts. It is out of the way to major nearby towns, so be prepared to drive if you want to visit the wine country towns. But, oh so peaceful!

A picturesque and quiet location approx. 20mins from downtown St. Helena. Part of the fun is the journey on the windy roads that lead you there. Enjoy the estate grown wines, the company of dogs and cats, and racehorse history.

Susan is very sweet and responsive. The grounds beautiful and breakfast hit the spot. I didn't have time to dip in the pool but would have loved to hang out on the property more then I could. A pleasure.

We loved our experience! The room was comfortable, the pool and hot tub are pristine, we made friends with dogs and cats, and enjoyed meeting a few other guests. Susan is an excellent communicator, helped us through a late check-in, and gave us a bit of history on the area. We'd love to return!

For an authentic, peaceful visit to Napa Valley -- most of which has been overridden by ego and capital -- STAY HERE. Rustridge's Susan and her friendly, accommodating support team, which includes four handsome labs, a platoon of kitties, and several graceful horses, are a bottomless source of hospitality. Breakfasts are ample and delicious, the huge guest kitchen is fun to cook in, the pool is refreshing, the bed comfy, and all posturing is left (within reach, if you like) to Rustridge's arriviste cousins along Highway 37.

Our secluded property, once a large thoroughbred horse and black angus ranch, was purchased by my family in 1972. Now it reflects my husband's and my two passions: wine and horses. We continue to breed and race thoroughbreds and each spring; just about the time new buds form on the grape vines, new foals are born.
The guesthouse is a rambling ranch style home with racing memorabilia, antiques, a large commercial style kitchen, wonderful views, decks, vegetable garden and pool area. We are an established Bed and Breakfast. We have been hosting guests here for 26 years,We have met wonderful people who have become great friends. Most people who stay here have an adventuresome spirit. They are seeking something out of the ordinary and they like to meet new people. Your experience here will not be ordinary, we would venture to say it will be extraordinary and memorable.
The grapes were first planted in the mid 70's. We grow Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. The winery was founded by my brothers Stan and Grant in 1985. It is housed in a renovated hay storage barn. We took over the reins of the operations in 1990. I am the winemaker and Jim is the vineyard manager and horseman. Helping us handcraft the estate-bottled wines produced by RustRidge is distinguished winemaker Kent Rosenblum aka Dr. Zin. Vines are organically grown and dry farmed, we have some of the oldest vines in Napa Valley!
Jim and I along with our three dogs, fourteen cats and fourteen horses invite you to experience our unique lifestyle, enjoy great wines and unwind in our idyllic environment.
