Dan and Naoko are super friendly and made us feel right at home. We had all the space we needed and could come and go easily, but if we wanted to interact then they were great to chat with. Breakfast is scrumptious and we enjoyed chatting with some of the other guests during this time too. The location is great - just a short 10-minute walk from downtown, and even closer to the ocean and a nearby park. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a great time at Dan & Naoko's place ... the property ticked all the boxes for me. Very centrally located(I walked there with my luggage from the downtown bus stop) . I never took a cab for my entire stay... everything is in walking distance (whale watching office, bike or kayak rentals, great restaurants and bars , museums, parks , etc). Though centrally located, it is in a very quiet and calm/safe residential neighborhood. The property is a classic building with beautiful interiors and a colorful garden. Room and bathrooms were very clean and cosy. Do not miss their delicious breakfast with the soothing background music . Also breakfast is the best time to catch up with the other guests / hosts since you maybe out sightseeing most of the time . The best part of the stay was how friendly and helpful the hosts were... it felt like a home away from home. Dan and Naoko had interesting stories and they also were very helpful in guiding/ helping plan the day (even went out of the way to help me book whale watching , provided a map, suggested the best and economical modes of transport to buchardt gardens etc ). I would highly recommend this property.

Dan and Naoko are kind and gracious hosts. Our room was cozy and clean, and we were offered a few breakfast options that were both nourishing and delicious. Their place is a short walk to all of the major tourist attractions in Victoria, including the Royal BC Museum and many wonderful restaurants. Our only surprise was that there was no television, radio, or even clock in the room - so we were glad to have brought our books, journals, and knitting to keep ourselves entertained in the evenings before getting ready for bed. We were able to use our phones to set an alarm for breakfast, and had we did have access to wifi as well. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we came back to Victoria, BC.

This lovely house is in a great location, quite and central at the same time. Parking was easy. Our room was clean, fresh, well equipped. I loved the skylight in the bathroom. I stayed with my family and all of us add a good sleep. The host are welcoming and very kind person. Breakfast was great, lots of options even for our little one. I strongly recommend this place, we will be back for sure. Thank you

Dan & Naoko User ProfileDan & Naoko is a superhost.

Welcome to our charming Victorian home, built well over a hundred years ago.

Naoko (born and raised in Kyoto, Japan,) and Dan (an Appalachian hillbilly) are a happily married couple (17 years), delighted to live by the sea on magical Vancouver Island. Operating The Carriage House Bed & Breakfast since 1992 we are proud to have many repeat customers.

Aside from attending Victoria's myriad cultural venues and happenings we enjoy travelling, music, gastronomy (at home and out), horseback riding, ice skating, and swimming.

We invite you to come and share our beautiful island city with us!
