About This Listing
We have a super fun house in the highlands of Louisville. Close to all the best restaurants, bars and Cherokee Park. Only minutes from downtown and Churchill Downs. Enjoy comfortable beds, warm showers and a cozy home.
I love our house. The fall of 2014 was remodel time for us. We raised the ceilings upstairs and added a master bathroom with the greatest double shower of all time.
As our guest you will have access to the entire house.
Interaction with Guests
I am always available to help with anything. But I gladly stay out of your way while you are here so that you can enjoy your stay.
The Highlands offers great restaurants, coffee shops and some unique gems that can not be found anywhere else in the city. The Why Louisville store is must visit. Everything is in walking distance and Cherokee Park is just a few blocks away as well.
Louisville is a large spread out city but everything is within about a 10 minute drive. A main bus route is also just a block away from us that take you downtown. Plus everything in The Highlands is walkable and Cherokee Park is just blocks away.
Such a wonderful home! You can tell that Peter and his wife take great pride in their home and keep it in great shape. It truly embodies the charm of Louisville! He was very quick to respond to any and all questions that I had leading up to our stay and everything was exactly as described. The pictures do not even do this home justice, it is much larger in person. I cannot think of a single negative about our stay, the home, or the host!
Peter was super accommodating during our entire trip. His home is beautiful, haven't seen a clawfoot tub in ages! I love that he was renovating it by himself. The work and care clearly shines through. There was more than enough space for my entire team. One of our teammates decided to come last minute for a day between two other trips and Peter definitely made him feel welcomed. There is plenty of street parking, and it's a short walk to the neighborhood's main strip. Really fantastic, quaint neighborhood. Peter was super communicative throughout our entire stay and had beer, chocolate, towels, sheets, everything we needed made available to us. Looking forward to staying with him again next year when we come back for the convention!
Six of us, three married couples, rented the house for 3 nights for Derby and Oaks 2014. We enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was very walkable and we enjoyed seeing all of the squirrels and rabbits in the yards and the neighbors walking their dogs. We walked to several nice bars and restaurants within a half mile or 15 minute walk. Once we parked, had we not needed to go out for groceries, we would have not needed to move our car from Thursday to Sunday. Parking was abundant for our two SUVs and a large sedan.
Peter was very gracious and flexible in meeting us for the check-in, which we appreciated because we were not on a set schedule. There were no hitches in the arrangements and other than asking for more wash cloths and where the coffee maker was, we had no issues at all. The toilet and shower are in separate enclosures so sharing one bathroom when 6 adults had to get up, shower, dress and be picked up for the races at 9:30 each morning was surprisingly no problem. I would recommend this house for anyone staying in Louisville.
the house was awesome and Peters hostess Amanda was super friendly. LOVED the location. Just a short walk down the hill and you're right in the middle of quaint shops and restaurants. The pictures did not do the house justice. There is a fabulous dining table in a roomy dining room. The screened in back porch host a unique picnic table with party lights twinkling overhead. There is easily dining space for 18 when you use the little kitchen table. The neighborhood is BEAUTIFUL and the house is in a really nice safe feeling area.
