Gary was the best host you could ask for - he was very responsive and helpful both before we arrived and when we were at the house. The welcome basket was also a very nice touch. The home was also very beautifully decorated and his property is also much bigger than I could have ever imagined - there is an unbelievable amount of space for you to run around in. Thanks Gary for a wonderful stay!
Our family was in Delhi for our son's wedding and Gary's beautiful home was the perfect place for our friends and family to gather. Gary was the perfect host and very attentive to our needs. He greeted us on arrival and left a wonderful welcome basket which we all enjoyed. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, and the kitchen has everything any cook could want. We loved walking on the grounds and exploring the creek, ponds, fields and paths this serene property has to offer. We will definitely stay here again!
This is a wonderful home in a beautiful part of the Catskills. Our family had a great week staying here. Gary is a gracious and extremely thoughtful host, and the home itself is perfect for a family, friends, and kids. We look forward to coming back in another season!
Our family had a wonderful time at Gary's Farm House. The house and grounds are beautiful, and Gary is the perfect host - extremely friendly and truly trying to make sure your stay is as perfect as possible. The kitchen, in particular, is fantastic with plenty of space and every gadget and device you could need. We highly recommend this place for a family or small group of adults.
Gary could not have been more accomodating. The home was spacious and comfortable for all of us. We were in Delhi for our daughter's wedding and it was great that at least most of our family could be under one roof. There were a few issues that we had encountered which Gary promptly rectified. He was a very gracious and generous host. We all loved the welcome basket!
This was my first experience with Airbnb and I must thank Gary for his patience and cooperation in helping me through the process. He will remember it was not a pleasant experience for me. Thank you, Gary, for everything.
The best part about Gary's place is Gary––and that's saying a ton because his place is deeply lovely. Our family (4 young kids) stayed for 3 weeks this August. We'd never been as far into the Catskills from NYC as this but it was so worth it. Delaware County is gorgeous, pastoral, and full of cute towns and old barns, farms, and silos. The house was perfect for us: spacious, open, well-appointed, plenty of rooms and beds, etc. Kids loved the game room. We loved the kitchen. My goodness the kitchen. I could and did find reasons to spend full days in that room alone.
The house is an old tavern (originally) and Gary has personally and lovingly designed and restored the interior from the former home-owners. We loved the really smart and occasionally zany mid-century aesthetic. All I can say is: the pictures on the site are accurate but don't convey the full beauty and space that is there.
The lack of pictures on the site for the acreage/property is unfortunate because it. is. so. beautiful. We hardly left the property and our city kids just loved taking walkie-talkies and exploring the creeks, cornfields, forests, swimming in ponds, and so on. So did the adults. The panorama is terrific, and so are multitudes of little hidden places you can't believe are there without someone to appreciate most of the time. The only concern we had regarding the property is that the house itself is situated on a small county road. Cars really do fly down it. Fortunately, there's only about one care per minute, and the yard to play in and the rest of the extensive property is all down the hill away from the road. So we never felt unsafe with our kids running around.
So that was all the less-than-the-best part. Gary is deeply generous, understanding of people's needs, talented, gentle, and giving. In only a handful of interactions our family got very attached to Gary and it was hard to leave. So I guess we'll have to come back to stay in the future.
Stay here. You'll be blessed.
Our group had a fantastic stay at Gary's beautifully-appointed house. We cooked and baked in the large, sunny kitchen which was stocked with all the tools we needed and much more. We enjoyed reading by the fire, playing in the game room, and walking around the vast, untouched property. The pond, fields and woods were wonderful to explore. The home is situated well with farmer's markets close by, a big Price Chopper for other groceries, and fun antique stores we enjoyed poking around in. The house is a joy to be in, it's so relaxing and really beautifully designed. Gary is the most wonderful host--he met us at the house to give us a tour and answer any questions, he was so helpful in pointing us in the right direction for food/shopping/activities, he made himself available to us all weekend even though he was hosting friends, and even insisted on bringing over fresh firewood for the unseasonably cold Spring weekend as well as freshly baked cakes! Thanks for a perfect weekend Gary, we can't wait to come back!
