The Nolita House is centrally located in one of the best neighborhoods you will find on Air BnB! Located in NoLita on Mulberry Street just below Houston, it's in a trendy neighborhood in downtown Manhattan nestled between SoHo and the Lower East Side. This sought after neighborhood is surrounded by some of the finest art galleries, shops, restaurants and night clubs in Manhattan. Start your day with a coffee at the coffee shop downstairs and end your day with a drink at one of the many amazing bars close by. You can shop until you drop any direction you walk out the front door. Have too many shopping bags? Pop home to drop them off and head back out for more! There are two restaurants on the bottom floor of the building, and literally dozens more within a two-block radius. The apartment is also conveniently located next to the exciting areas of Little Italy, Chinatown, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
Amazingly there is a subway stop about 20 meters from the front door—you can almost see it out the window! The green, yellow and orange lines are all within two blocks, making it outrageously convenient to move about the city.
The apartment is a two bedroom that is extremely clean. There are no personal items in the apartment, providing a simple and uncluttered experience. It's in a building constructed in 1910 and the hallways can look old and beat up, another reason I make every effort to keep the apartment as clean as possible. Each bedroom is on opposite sides of the apartment, offering excellent privacy. There is a cozy living room for relaxing and a small dining room that overlooks Mulberry Street and the Puck Building. While fairly large by NYC standards, it's not a spacious apartment. The furniture is functional but certainly not soft and expansive. It's a great base for adventures throughout the city, not hanging out inside. Also, there is no TV at this time. Although it's very close to all the action it's a quiet block, allowing a calm and comforting environment. It's on the 4th floor (the ground floor is floor 1) and there is no elevator.
The bathroom is large with a new, modern sink. The bedrooms have new full-size beds and clean bedding for your comfort. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, dishes, a coffee maker and, of course, a refrigerator.
The water pressure is low in the entire building and everything has been done to improve the pressure in the apartment. As noted, it takes about 4 or 5 minutes for hot water to come out.

We had a fantastic stay at Nolita House. What a great neighbourhood with fabulous cafés, restaurants and shops on your doorstep and the subway nearby to explore the rest of New York. Marek was really easy to communicate with and very responsive to any queries. As we were arriving very late, he made special arrangements for us to collect the key. I would highly recommend Nolita House as a great place stay in New York. The two bedrooms are at either end of the apartment which makes them very private. As other guests mentioned, it is four flights up, but the extra walking helps work off the delights sampled in the neighbouring cafés and restaurants.
We as a family of four adults stayed in the beautiful apartment for 5 nights and we really enjoyed our time there. The apartment was tidy and clean when we first arrived and everything was as we expected from the photos on the profile. The apartment was not very spacious but well equipped.
The location of the apartment couldn't be any better, we were in the middle of the hip neighborhood Nolita which is in walking distance from other cool neighborhoods as Noho, Soho, East Village, and Little Italy
The street we lived in is a quiet street, in the apartment you rarely hear any loud noises during the night, except for the rather loud air-conditioners.
Marek was a great host. Our check-in as well as our check-out procedure was very easy and well organized. At check-out, we could even leave our luggage in the apartment during the day.
Thank you so much for making our stay in New York very enjoyable!
This apartment is in a great location, with the train station less than a minute away, and cool quirky restaurants in the surrounding streets.
There is some great shopping a couple of streets away on Broadway, and two of our favourite restaurants were Jacks Wife Freda and Cherche Midi. There were also many locations to get great coffee, the two closest being Gasoline Alley and Bowrey Coffee. Oh! There is also a Wholefoods supermarket a couple of streets away with amazing good quality produce. So, location, amazing, you're in a cool part of New York with easy access to all the touristy spots, as well as having the opportunity to explore some of the more hidden sides to the city.
The wifi was good quality and fast, and there was a lot of information about the city available for us to read.
Aesthetically, the apartment itself did leave a bit to be desired. The pictures make it look lighter and bigger than it actually is.
There was a smell that tended to take over the hallway, entrance and kitchen areas which came from the neighbouring apartment. The smell was essentially that of a litter box because of the neighbours dog.
The shower was more of a dribble of water, and if you have long hair, there is no hope of washing it. It's even hard to wash the soap off your body. It also took about 5 minutes to heat up and was either very hot or very cold.
The air conditioners were installed on the day that we arrived after we had got there, but did not work. It was not too hot so it was lucky.
The apartment is definitely not a show stopper, and wasn't really what we were expecting.
If you are after a more homey chic experience (as we were) this probably isn't the one. All in all it served a purpose for giving us a base, somewhere to sleep and get organised.
We spent 3 weeks in NYC and wanted a comfortable, clean and well located apartment with basic cooking facilities. These expectations were mostly met. This apartment was very well located in old Lower Manhattan. Close to the underground and many restaurants, some inexpensive with quality to match and others with excellent cuisine.
Marek responded promptly to our email enquiries and 'though we never met in person seemed eager to assist. He even provided a TV which is not normally in the apartment.
The apartment is on the 4th floor. No lift ! The hallways outside the apartment show their age and appear as though they have not been painted for many years. Floors in hallways are kept clean but walls dirty! The beds & bedding are comfortable and basic kitchen necessities were provided. The furniture is very rickety and there is only one old cupboard with hanging space. The table and chairs are not stable. The front bedroom window would not stay open. I let Marek know about this and he advised that the building manager would be alerted.
Overall, while there were these few short comings, the locality of this apartment is an area of NYC that friends tell us is becoming quite "trendy".
we recently stayed at the nolita house and we really liked it. the furniture is aesthetic. for us it was a home away from home. it is clean, friendly and a great location to explore nyc. marek was a very helpful host who was easy to communicate with.
Appartement très bien placé, plusieurs métros à proximité, dans un quartier très agréable, proche de nombreux lieux à visiter: sud et nord de Manhattan, Brooklyn. Commerces à proximité également.
Le logement est simple mais confortable.
Lovely apartment, nice host who was easy to communicate with, top location! Would love to stay there again, we were very happy! Thank you!!
Marek was a very helpful and accommodating host and his apartment is tidy in a great location. The front bedroom overlooks the street, so expect some noise there.
The apartment is perfectly located close to restaurants, bars, cafes, groceries and several subway stations. We (four people) liked that there's some space between the rooms and the bathroom so everybody had their space if needed. The shower could've worked better (when warm the stream was quite weak) but it did its purpose for a week. Marek was a considerate host and always answered quickly when we had questions.
