I had a great time staying here last weekend in Montreal. The apartment was perfectly located. I was able to walk everywhere I needed to be! The room and apartment were very clean. The bathroom is shared but it is right next to the room so you don't have to venture far to get to it.
I was out for most of the weekend, but I did get a chance to speak with both Bertrand and Christian on multiple occasions. They were both friendly and made me feel very welcome. They offered me tea/coffee and made sure the temperature of the apartment was comfortable. Also, they know the area well and were able to answer any questions I asked them.
It was a pleasure to stay in their apartment, if you are considering staying in this area I highly recommend staying here!
Jean is a very nice guy. He provided us with the basic information necessary to navigate Montreal. The apartment is clean and centrally located.
Bertrand is the perfect AirBnB host, welcoming and super helpful. His apartment (which is clean and comfy) is ideally located in good neighborhood, close to a main metro hub and the 747 bus stop to/from Trudeau airport. Highly recommended, would stay here again!
We really love the place. It is much closer to main shopping and tourist areas than we expected by looking at the map. Bertrand and his partner are extremely welcoming hosts! They made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. We strongly recommend this air B'n'B hosts!!!
Our check out time was pushed back because our host had a meeting, but we ended up being greeted by his partner, Christian, who was very nice.
While the apartment was small, the room we rented was large, and right near the bathroom, so it felt private.
We were not given access to the private entrance, so it felt a little less private.
I have never stayed in a shared room on airbnb, so those looking for privacy may want to look elsewhere. One night, the hosts were watching a movie in the living room when we got home (granted it was a Saturday night and they probably thought we would be out).
It was also fairly loud outside our window from people partying on the street.
Overall, for the price, location (walking or bixi distance from everything), it was a good value, but I would not stay in a shared space again.
It was also incredibly hot in the room and the central air system did not reach our room.
On business in Montreal and looking for an apt for long term stay I needed to stay somewhere until I find appropriate accommodation. Jean Bertrand is a great host and went beyond expectations to help me find my way around town and find the apt. I was looking for. Room is excellent: clean, warm and cozy with a large bed and has a separate entrance, there's a table also and a Wi-Fi too.
Bertrand and his partner Christian were ideal hosts for the first-time AirBnB user. Generous, kind, considerate, and easy to talk with, they made us feel at home and free to use their apartment as our base for four days exploring Montreal.
The apartment is modest-sized but very modern with all the latest high-tech features and comforts. Our bedroom was as advertised, with a 2nd floor PRIVATE balcony entrance, though we never felt the need to use it. Everything was very clean. I mean way-cleaner than our own standards. :)
Another good thing about the room was its relative privacy, with adjacent bathroom and kitchen. The hosts have the other side of the apartment and it's easy to meet in the middle living room area for conversation.
Located just 4 blocks from Montreal's central Metro station, it was an ideal location for getting around without a car. I walked everywhere, and when I got tired of walking, access to the subway system was never far away. We loved the Montreal subway! Fast, fairly clean, runs every day until late.
The apartment was in The Village, the gayest place on earth I've ever been--including the Castro District, San Francisco. We are not gay, but it was never a problem. In fact, all the negative stereotypes of "gay" life could be rebutted simply by getting to know Bertrand and Christian.
Perhaps the most interesting thing was the family backgrounds of our hosts. They are both immigrants to Canada forging professional careers. They seem to be admirable, hard-working, model citizens. We learned so much just talking about our respective lives and views.
