About this listing
Enjoy an antique atmosphere in the heart of culture and art in downtown Seoul. Be our guest and make yourself at home. Make your travels in Korea more special than ever!
126 Mansion is a Guesthouse which is located in Palpan-dong(aka Samchung-dong), the centre of culture and art, in downtown Seoul.
Palpan-dong is just around the corner from Gyungbokgung, the first royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty. This place has been at the very centre of the Capital city of Korea since the old days of the royal dynasty; in this area, eight Panseos(Ministers of the Joseon Dynasty) used to reside here hence where Palpan-dong(an eight-Panseos’ village) got its name.
Within a 3-minute walk from our Guesthouse, you can see a variety of galleries, shops and cafes in a busy street. Han-ok Maeul (Korea’s traditional house village) is within a 10-minute walk. It is about 5 to 30 minute walk to Seoul’s most famous historic sites such as Gyungbokgung, Changdukgung, and Deoksugung. Also you can get to Myung-dong, Dongdaemun and Namdaemun markets, and Gwanghwamun square.
Equally, we are proud of the picturesque surroundings of the 126 Mansion. Just beside our Guesthouse, there is a beautiful promenade of the stone wall of Gyungbokgung leading to Cheongwa-dae (the Blue House).
126 Mansion is a high-class Guesthouse providing comfortable, spacious living. Our guest house is situated with a nice view so that you can see Gyungbokgung and Cheongwadae. Guests can also expect excellent service in our relaxing dining room and experience a fine example of modern day living in a traditional space. We will welcome you with exclusive hospitality.

126Mansion was a highlight of our first visit to Seoul. Su, Soyoung, and Tomomi are so friendly and were helpful with any questions we had. We had a lot of fun talking with them. The B&B has a great artistic design throughout. The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts (Korean or American) were delicious. The location is perfect! - between two beautiful palaces- and near to museums, boutique shops and great restaurants. English and Japanese were no problem for the staff. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on our next visit to Seoul.
Mansion 126 is a wonderful place to stay at in Seoul! Feels like a home away from home. The neighborhood is quaint with lots of nice cafés, galleries and shops and very little traffic.
Hyunchung, her sisters and mother are really nice people and are more than accommodating to their guests. I got great recommendations for further travel from them and enjoyed their company, conversation and tasty breakfast!
I would definitely stay here again!
Hyunjeong could not have been more helpful. Her instructions for finding her place were great as was the phone support for the taxi. Also, she was great at showing us where to go to visit the sites around her place which is so centrally located. I would highly recommend the High-class B&B.
My husband and I were in Seoul for eight days to visit our son who is stationed in Korea and to explore his new home. We chose to stay at 126 Mansion in order to more fully explore the Korean culture as opposed to a motel. We definitely made the right choice. The B&B is located in a great location of Seoul. It is a fantastic neighborhood close to the National Folklore Museum, the Bubryun Temple, and many great restaurants and attractions.
I cannot say enough about Hyunchung Lee and her mother and sisters! They were fantastic hosts. They were flexible and accommodating when my son came to visit and stayed a few nights.
The choice of a Korean or American breakfast was offered each day and both were delicious.
Do not hesitate to stay here when visiting Seoul. You will enjoy every minute of your time there.

So cute! Great area, super clean and very friendly family! I love this place and would return without hesitation. It has everything you need, and if you get sick, like I did unfortunately, I'm sure they will be kind enough to check on you and bring you tea, soup, and Tylenol. It's a bit scary to get sick when you're away from home, I was so grateful for the kindness and attention they showed me while struggling to recover. Wonderful place, beautiful people!
We stayed there for 3 nights. This petit B&B was lovely and comfortable and it's located in the nice relaxing neighborhood - so many cafes and galleries. The host and her family were very nice and friendly. One downside for us was that the bathroom was a little impractical but that's because we stayed with a 1 year old daughter.

About the Host, Hyunchung
Hello, greetings from 126Mansion in Seoul.
My two sisters and I have all worked in the art industry; my older sister is a clothing designer, my younger sister likes to paint although she is not a professional painter; and interestingly some of her better paintings are on display in our house. She truly has many gifts, she is a barista and also cooks very well. She runs our coffee shop on the first floor. Finally, as for me, I have worked in the Korean film industry.
In 2009, on one fine autumn day, we found this house (126Mansion) in a wonderful area. As soon as seeing it, we fell in love with it. At the time, the location of our house had been empty for some time and was more like a ghost house. However, we could imagine just how lovely could be if we renovated it. Immediately we loved the neighborhood, it’s very historical and also very modern and safe, clean, and no large apartments, and of course lots of good places in within walking distance. This area is known as Samcheong - dong. We decided to make this house a home for travellers, opening up this house to and for people from all over the world.
Generally speaking, people who visit Seoul they think Seoul is kind of shoppers paradise and that’s all, and not really so historical, not so cultural, but it’s not true. If you would stay this area, you will be able to discover many amazing points of interest. I really hope people who visit Seoul experience the various sides of Seoul, and have a true traveler’s delight.
We have great passion for communicating with new people, especially who are curious about Seoul, and Korea. Upon your arrival here in our home we can recommend some really nice places, ones not really known as traditional tourists’ spots. That would be our pleasure. Please, don’t hesitate to talk to us.
Lastly, I want to introduce to you my mom. She is an older lady but even in this chapter of her life, still very passionate and healthy, and of course a great cook. Early in the morning she prepares a Korean breakfast for our guests like you. I am so proud of my mom and her food. If you would like to try Korean food, please don’t miss my mom’s food.
We are looking forward to meeting you, all of you wonderful travelers from all over the world.
