Welcome to Casa Luminaria, an original Canarian farmhouse hidden among the mountains, fruit trees and untamed beauty of the Caldera de Taburiente.

Designed for two, this peaceful unit is an intimate retreat for couples, close friends or adventurous travel companions who want to experience a quieter, more authentic side of La Palma. The bedroom features two exceptionally comfortable single beds, which can remain separate or be placed together and dressed with proper king-size bedding to create one generous, inviting bed.

Inside, the rustic character of the original farmhouse is paired with the comforts of modern life, including air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a smart TV and reliable Wi-Fi throughout the home and outdoor areas.

Step outside beneath a living canopy of maracuyá vines, where sunlight filters through broad green leaves and passion fruits hang overhead. Begin the morning with breakfast in their shade, looking out toward the mountains of the Caldera, or linger over coffee while the finca slowly wakes around you.

The farm itself is part of the experience. Spend a morning wandering through the terraces, discovering what is growing and seeing where your food comes from. Depending on the season and what is ready to harvest, guests may find avocados, pumpkins, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, papayas, passion fruit, macadamia nuts and other fruits and vegetables growing across the property. When produce is available, you are welcome to gather some to enjoy during your stay.

You could easily spend an entire day exploring the finca, following its paths, resting beneath the fruit trees and discovering new corners of the farm. Throughout the property, gardens, patios, terraces and quiet spaces invite you to settle into the rhythm of the landscape. Read beneath the vines, soak up the warmth on the rooftop, prepare a meal using something freshly harvested or return after a day of hiking to watch the mountains soften in the evening light.

Although Casa Luminaria contains two independent guest units, you will never share the finca with another group. When this unit is reserved, the second unit is automatically blocked and remains closed and unoccupied. You will be the only guests staying on the property, with the gardens, terraces and outdoor spaces yours to enjoy in complete peace and privacy.

For those drawn to adventure, the historic Camino Real passes directly outside the gates, connecting you with routes through the extraordinary landscape of La Caldera de Taburiente. From leisurely walks to more challenging hikes, the surrounding trails wind through forests, ravines, volcanic terrain and sweeping mountain scenery.

Casa Luminaria offers the best of both worlds: the feeling of being hidden away in your own private world, without being far from the life of the island. Los Llanos de Aridane, La Palma’s main commercial centre, is approximately 15 minutes away by car, with restaurants, shops, supermarkets and everything you may need during your stay. The popular beaches of Puerto de Tazacorte and Puerto Naos are around 25 to 30 minutes away, making it easy to spend the morning in the mountains and the afternoon beside the ocean.

When night falls, the sky becomes part of the experience. La Palma is internationally recognised for its exceptionally clear, dark skies, and Casa Luminaria lies in one of the island’s darkest areas. The finca offers a memorable setting for stargazing, astrophotography or simply lying back together and watching the stars emerge above the Caldera.

Casa Luminaria is rustic, romantic and deeply connected to its surroundings. It is a place for barefoot breakfasts beneath the passion fruit vines, afternoons gathering food from the earth, days filled with exploration and evenings that seem to stretch a little longer under the stars.

Guests are warmly invited to unwind and savor the tranquility of our patio and rooftop terrace, where breathtaking views and soothing breezes await. Feel free to indulge in the aromatic herbs from our garden, adding a touch of freshness to your culinary creations. Explore the enchanting levels of our farm, immersing yourself in the lush greenery and vibrant colors that surround you. While farm workers and our Airbnb hosts may visit the property approximately three days a week to tend to the gardens and farm, rest assured that evenings and nights are yours to enjoy in complete privacy. Other things to note
We regret to inform our guests that due to the multiple levels and terrains of our farm, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 13. Additionally, we would like to advise visitors that La Palma is renowned as one of the steepest islands globally. Therefore, we recommend against learning to drive a manual car for the first time on the island. If you prefer an automatic vehicle, we advise making a rental car reservation well in advance, as they are in high demand and often in short supply. Your safety and comfort are of utmost importance to us, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
