Our neighborhood is peaceful and pretty, it's on the hillside on the way up to some hilltops and a forest, perfect for trekking with an amazing view of Addis. There are small shops only 100 meters away with basic selections.
Our house is placed up in the hillside amongst big trees in fresh air next to the Russian Embassy in Kebena area. It's only a 3-4 minute walk down to the ring-road which will take you anywhere with a Taxi or Minibus. A minibus to Arrat- or Siddist Kilo or to Megenagna is approx 5-10 minutes away. A Contract-Taxi to Meskel Square or to Tele Bole is 10-15 minutes away.

Thank you so much, V and F, for a lovely week. I was living in Addis already, so I was not a typical tourist: I was looking for a temporary home, and that's exactly what I found. Whether I needed directions or laundry done or Wi-Fi advice or a curtain, Vermond was so responsive, twice preempting my need for an extra blanket and a cold Ethiopian beer. If being in the center of town isn't a necessity, definitely stay with these two.
The host (Vemund) was very kind to await my late arrival despite having to travel himself the next day, he's an Ethiopia veteran and was extremely helpful in getting my life started during my weeklong stay. The room is cozy and just as described on here, very unique experience to live among a regular Ethiopian neighborhood. Highly recommended!
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was my first time using airbnb but I was really fortunate to find Vermund and Frita through this site. They are excellent hosts with a lovely home, it really was the perfect place to stay for my trip. Vermund was not there at the time but he was very prompt with communication before I arrived. Frita was very kind, helping with information whenever I needed it and showing me some of the musical highlights of Addis. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The bathroom was of a high standard and convenient. And it was really great to have access to a kitchen and fridge. The courtyard was a relaxing place to stay and the neighbourhood real green. It was a haven to come back to after a busy day in the city. I would highly recommend this place.
