The yurt cabin was lovely! It was exactly what we were looking for (in the country, off the grid) & very close to Shenendoah. It was extremely clean, the beds were comfy, and they had plenty of towels. FYI that cell service was spotty to nonexistent, but again, you should probably expect that! Our only complaint was that you had to pay for wifi (which may be mentioned on airbnb, but I may not have seen it) and it only worked one device at a time. It wasn't a big deal or expensive, just unexpected. All in all, we'd definitely come here again.
Staying in the yurt was truly an enjoyable experience. It was easy to get in to, clean, spacious, and above all, beautiful and peaceful. It was perfect for a weekend get away to celebrate a friend's birthday, and super convenient to the White Oak Canyon hike, and DuCard Winery. The fire pit was lovely, and staff even came by to build us a fire. I appreciate the commitment to the fishing theme which was charming. Appropriate cook and dining ware, and great kitchen.
Doug is a great host with an great set of cabins. We went out for a day hike at Old Rag and check in after ; the drive was only about 10-15 minutes. The cabin, view and amenities were clean, reliable and good quality. Doug clearly thought of all the little details too... There were fresh coffee beans with a grinder, clean towels, soap, a good stack of fire wood for the pit... He even left out from light on for us. To top it off, the cabin has a lot of fly fishing photos, info, etc that add a good personal touch. There is a small town 10 miles up the road with a corner shop for basic food and drinks. Even they knew Doug and had only great things to say! Overall we high recommend the cabin.
