Interaction with Guests
It is always a treat to meet guests at checkin, visit with them in the garden or even share a glass of wine. Alternatively, it is not unusual for guests to check themselves in & out with communications all by text. Although I miss meeting them in person, this method works remarkably well too.
I often travel for work & fun. If I am out of town, there is always a "property manager" available on site.
Hyde Park is close to downtown, UT, 6th street and all the other "action". But it is an historic neighborhood one hundred year old homes with large trees and lively gardens; making a quiet get away.
We are 1 block from the 1 or 5 bus routes that go right downtown & run every 10 minutes. We are also on the UT free transit bus.
Getting here from the airport:
Taxis run between $25-30 and is fast.
Supershuttle is a minibu that is shared with 2-3 other peopIe, costs about $15 and is medium slow.
The city bus #101 is only $1 and very slow.
I highly recommend Car2Go - a shared vehicle service as an alternative to renting a car. You can even get them to and from the airport (costs about $10). but you have to sign up in advance.
Other Things to Note
What to expect.
We really want you to have a great stay & go out of our way to make it happen. But we are not a hotel, so there is more chance of unexpected things happening, both good & bad.
The nearest hotels are a Double Tree & La Quinta & the rooms cost twice as much. They are in the middle of government buildings with few nearby attractions.
The apartment is walkable to loads of fun things and is in a tree filled neighborhood.
However, with hotels you know exactly what you are getting & there are no surprises.

This listing was charming and was as advertised. Perfect location and the setting made us feel like we were staying in a tree house, with the upstairs apartment and trees surrounding it. Would definitely recommend Tracy's apartment.
Her place was clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient to UT. I appreciated the coffee set up with a fresh, organic container of cream in the fridge. Thank you for a pleasant first experience with Airbnb!
Tracy's apartment was excellent. It was very spacious, very quiet, and it was located in a great part of town. I would definitely stay with Tracy again if I have to stay in that part of Austin. Tracy kept in excellent contact with me and I highly recommend a stay for anyone staying in the Austin area looking to get just a little north of downtown.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot in the trees! It was a perfect place for two and very comfy with lots of light. The location was a simple 12 minute drive to downtown and easy access to freeways yet inside a neighborhood to feel at home. Tracy helped us get settled smoothly thanks to her timely communication. Recommended!
Tracy was very helpful and responsive during the weekend. The neighborhood is great, as well as the off-street parking. Very close to Guadalupe street, I-35, Mopac, but also very quiet (aside from the birds in the morning...can't do much about that though!). I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Austin.
Tracy’s place is SO cute and very clean; perfect for our stay!! She was prompt when replying to emails, very sweet, and laid-back about checking in and out. If we were relocating to Austin, we would have liked to move in :)
Nice place, just as described.
Walking distance from some cool spots.
Tracy was very nice.
