Set in the delightful Northamptonshire countryside within easy access of the historic towns of Towcester, Northampton and Oxford. There are the sporting venues of Silverstone and Towcester on the doorstep as well as shopping in Milton Keynes.

The space

The bungalow is attached to the house shown in the photograph above and was designed and built in 1981, to an extent by ourselves, on the site of the village Wheelwrights workshop. It is of modern construction and is completely self-contained. We reside in the house and are available if assistance is required. As we are resident, guidance and security is enhanced.
The bungalow is situated on the left side of the arched entrance and is centrally heated with radiators in all rooms and comprises a Living/Dining Room, a spacious Bedroom with a comfortable double bed and generous wardrobe space. The Bathroom and facilities are adjacent to the Bedroom and there is a bath and a separate shower cubicle. The Kitchen as illustrated is fully fitted. There is also a small Study/Den where, if required, a third person could be accommodated on a put-you-up bed.
Pury End is a quiet village located in typical Northamptonshire countryside of gentle hills, fields and farmland. It’s main claim to fame is for being the birthplace, in 1761, of William Carey (the famous Baptist missionary) and it is also the home of the international headquarters of the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts’ Club.
Close to home are many attractions, the most famous of which are the Silverstone motor racing circuit, home to the British F1 Grand Prix and Towcester Racecourse which is a Horse racing course, Greyhound track, Conference centre and Wedding and events Venue. Nearby sporting venues include a number of golf courses, Franklin Gardens, the home of Northampton Saints rugby club, and Stadium MK, the home of MK Dons football club and also a venue for the 2015 rugby world cup. Althorp, the once family home of Diana, Princess of Wales is a short distance away.
Although local buses serve the village and provide access to Milton Keynes, Northampton and Oxford it is essential to have your own transport to be able to explore the surrounding area. We are centrally situated between London and Birmingham (north to south) and between Oxford and Cambridge (east to west) and all these places can be reached in about one hour. London can also be reached by train in about 30 minutes from Milton Keynes Central Station which is about a 20 minute drive away.

Location, location, location! This bungalow was in the perfect location for the F1 Grand Prix (the reason for our holiday). Less than 10 minutes' drive to our parking lot, and away from most of the traffic. Our host, Zena, was very accommodating with our arrival time and even took us for a lovely walking tour of the village once we had settled in. The garden was absolutely stunning and we were fortunate to have weather in which we could enjoy it. The bungalow itself is charming and well taken care of. The bungalow was the perfect size for two people and was a welcome change after having spent our first week in a tiny hotel room in London. There is a full kitchen that Zena had thoughtfully stocked with eggs, bacon, milk, and bread. There was also a folder of information on nearby places to eat and Zena was available to answer any questions we had. I can't say enough kind words about our host and would highly recommend this bungalow to anyone looking to holiday near Silverstone. Thank you to Zena for her hospitality!

This is an exceptional cottage with very nice and helpful hosts. It contains absolutely everything to make an enjoyable home away from home. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful garden and hope to see it again in the summer. The location is very quite and convenient to Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. I highly recommend it.

Thanks Zena for the wonderful stay. Your location from Silverstone is the best! With only a few minutes drive were at the gate. Sitting outside in the luscious garden was a great treat. I hope to see you again in a future booking.

Lovely self-contained flat which was a good location for the Grand Prix at Silverstone. Nice and quiet location, quirky/characteristic house and Zena left basics for us on arrival (milk, bacon, bread, butter). Zena was a lovely host and very pleasant to talk to. Prefect!

We were made very welcome and information was forthcoming . This is very central for Towcester, Silverstone and MK. Every thing in the cupboards for everyday use. Nice and clean and comfortable. Very much a home from home. Highly recommended and now a new friend.

Thank you Dee I did indicate that we did not normally go for long stay guests and was not aware that there was a 'price' for the use of a washing machine! However, the motor to the Neff cooker which fused has since been replaced - welcome to come and try it out!!

Zena and Robert were really welcoming and the bungalow was well equipped with everything you could need, notes on how everything works and the local area and the bed was comfy. We were a bit chilly (after sitting in the car for too long) and they kindly found the fan heater which soon had us warmed up. The village is pretty and quiet with a farm shop a couple of miles away. The annex has lots of fascinating artefacts and books from Zena's mother who used to live here, seems to have travelled extensively and must have been a really interesting woman. Thank you we had a great weekend.

This is the second time I stay with Zena and Richard. They are the most hospitable and friendly host, the bungalow has a very warm feeling to it with a beautiful garden to the rear. I will definitely stay here again.

I am of Indian origin and spent my youth living and traveling between India and Africa. Together with my family we settled in the United Kingdom in the 1960’s where I met and married my English husband.

As both our careers were associated with the construction industry our ambition to design and build our own home was achieved and this is where we reside.

We have now retired from our careers and keep very fit and active and share many interests which include adventure travels. We also enjoy meeting people and understanding other cultures, entertaining, gardening, theatre, music, reading ----- the list goes on.
